Last time I did it…when I was previously engaged…I wore a neutral colored bra and undies. Have you thought about Spanx or something similar? That’s what I will do when the time comes. (Yes……I am going to be an encore fiancee). 🙂

… I just didn’t let the attendant in the room with me.  I had my mom help out instead.

I wore a strapless bra and spanx and felt totally covered… although i’m not overly modest and wasn’t too worried about it.

wearing spanx (actually, mine are the "assets" brand and cost me only 20 bucks from target!) really helped me feel more comfortable and the dresses looked better! 🙂

I didn’t let the attendant back with me.  I was able to step into all the dresses and if I needed help with the zipper I had them help with that part.  Some of them offer bustiers for you to wear if you don’t have one yet so you can get a basic idea of having one under the dress and be a little more covered.

Yeah, I had my Maid/Matron of Honor help me as opposed to the sales lady.

Oh wow, there I was in my undies and strapless bra with strangers!  I had no idea you could tell them you would like to do it yourself or have a friend/family member help you, good to know now because maybe I can share that info with someone else!

i didn’t do the tried and true tradition of dress shopping (got mine on ebay) – but if i had it would have been unsettling for me to have a stranger watching over me while i tried on dresses.  i’d just take my mom, sister or trusted friend in the dressing room and let the sales lady wait outside.

I am a curvy gal, and I didn’t realize how much modesty you have to lose to try on wedding dresses. I hate going to the beach and stuff. My fiance laughs and says that i’m sexy lol. Well, I don’t agree. I was shocked when I was getting undressed and the girl just came walking in. She gave me a corset to wear and I just hand my own panties on. You get used to it after like 15 dresses I guess. But just think about it this way, you are getting married, and eventually you will have a baby. Being in your underclothes with a dress sales girl is no where near as exposed as that. At least you get to go in a dressing room lol. I am sure if you take a buddy along to help it won’t be as bad.

Good Luck
