I hope today is awesome for you! I was super excited for a Maggie Sottero trunk show and when I went to try on the dresses they were all in size 6. I am a 12 – so half my size. The consultant basically just put me in a room passed me the dress and then when I walked out ( it obviously didnt look good because there was no way it was going over my hips lol) she said “just imagine what it could look like” – yeah no thanks. I went to another bridal store where the consultant was AMAZING – she brought me each dress, helped me put it on and I felt absolutely relaxed and wonderful – that is where I bought my Maggie Sottero dream dress!

Good luck today!!! Remember you are beautiful!

Been thr, done that. I ended up buying my dress used. Fiorella was one of my faves as well. I had to watch it being modelled on a girl who could fit it. I was like hells no. But in the end I loved my dress (it took a while to get me thr though). Check out Alfred Angelo. They and Davids were the only place that I could try on dresses that fit.

Thats how I felt. I just didnt want to go to a bridal salon for fittings and all the stuff that is suppose to be fun if they didnt want to take the time with me. I love where I ended up buying my dress and I never had to stress about anything. They always made me feel comfortable and beautiful. You pay so much money for a dress and for the services that go with that dres. I am so happy I found a different bridal salon. I hope that everything goes well for you. Even if you end up going back to the same bridal salon maybe there will be a different consultant and you will have a better experience. Have fun!!!!!!!!

I hate you had that experience. I’m full-figured, but overall had a pretty good experience at most bridal shops. You’ll always find the one or two shops that has a consultant that really doesn’t know what their doing or feel like all ful-figured women want the same type of dress. Don’t get too discouraged! I really hope you have a great expierence today! Have a great time!

I hope everything goes great today!  I was really lucky in that my one and only dress shopping experience was fantastic.  Great consultant and lots of dresses in my size.  πŸ™‚  Hopefully you get that today!

I agree with Crebre…Alfred Anglo and David’s Bridal are definitely the places you want to go to be able to try stuff on. Even if you don’t actually purchase anything from there it will give you an idea of the styles and shapes that look best on your body type.

Im so glad you had a great experience.  It makes me wonder how many bridal shops are missing out on business.  Most women in the US are a size 12 and most bridal shops carry a bridal size 8 or 10 which is like a street size 6 or 8.  I went to 4 bridal shops that lost my business because they kept saying the “imagine what it would look like if it fit”.  I am a street size 10 and on my skinny months an 8 and I had a really hard time shopping for a dress.  I think you should cancel your order with the first salon and purchase it from the salon you had the great experience at.
