Ok so I’m starting to get antsy and really want to go try on dresses…..here’s the issue. I’m definitely the type of person that doesn’t want to order a dress too soon because I want to see what else comes out before I HAVE to order (planning on orderying BY sept 2012).
I really want to go try on dresses when I’m home for the holidays with my mom but what if I LOVE one… I still don’t want to order it….and what if I don’t like ANY…then I’ll get discouraged but aren’t in a time-frame to go from shop to shop because it’s not a rush….
ugh!!! anyone else waiting? already shopping? bought your dress??? help! lol

Since I am going out to town to shop for my dress (avoiding really high sales taxes in the city), I am going whenever I’m in my hometown and free just to get an idea of what looks good and what doesn’t. I’ll probably seriously look and purchase a dress in late Spring, early Summer.

I’m going probably right after the first of the year. Maybe Feb-April. I’m not only going to have to ask for time off, but it going to have to be a time when not only my biological mom can go but when my Future Mother-In-Law and my aunt (my legal guardian growing up) can go. I’m already getting ideas for dresses that I want 😀 I can’t wait!!!!

I’m pretty bad. I bought my dress two years ago, haha. We were planning on getting married in 2011, then we lost our jobs and pushed it back to 2013. BUT, when we were planning it for November 2011, I bought it in August 2010. I was too excited to wait.

I bought my dress this month, about half a year. I am thrilled to plan my wedding and prepare everything though sometimes I vent to my fi I don’t wanna a wedding. Ok, just a kidding. Anyway, I am excited to its coming.

I already have my dress! Granted, I went in for ideas and walked out with a dress. It’s totally up to you to wait, but it doesn’t hurt to go in early. Especially if you can’t pay for the dress in one sitting. It allows you more time to pay it off 🙂

I haven’t even tried one on yet! After reading so many dress regret threads on here, I want to wait a little bit. Plus, I live in a different state than my wedding and family, so I will just go dress shopping when I’m in town. I figure I might start trying on in Oct/Nov with the goal of buying a dress by January or February which would still give me a few more months if I get busy or can’t find a good one.

I haven’t gone shopping just yet. I think I’m going to wait until fall/winter of this year to start looking.

Bought mine last week! I knew before I tried it on that it was “the one”… so it wasn’t shocking. I lived in constant fear that it would be discontinued, so I didn’t waste any time.

Fiance and I are having a 22 month engagement. Though I really wanted to go shopping for a dress when we got engaged in 2012, I decided to wait. I went 11 months prior to the wedding.

@WolvLove: i went dress shopping that weekend after we were engaged ; ) i could not wait!!!
but my wedding is not till 2014 so i have some time before i can order but it helps to try on as many dresses as possible. i thought i wanted a ball gown at first but now im into the fit and flares,
its nice to go cz i get to really make my mind up when the time does come to order.
im so afraid of dress regret. i dont want to do that to myself.
so go out there dress shop and try on a bunch of dresses it so much fun and you really find out what you love. you never know till you put that dress on how its going to look on YOU!
happy dress shopping!!!!

There’s nothing wrong with tons of shopping!!!! Just don’t make the purchase until you are 150% sure
