I went alone, but I would have loved to have my mom. I will be taking her dress shopping to make up for that in a way.

I went with just my mom. She was really excited about it, and I’m glad it worked out that way.

On my first trip, I brought three friends. I tried on a ton of dresses, many of which weren’t my picks.  It was fun, but didn’t help me narrow down the options at all.

From then on, I went alone.  It was much better to work one-on-one with the consultants.

Just went with my mom for most of it, and actually found The Dress a few months ago while I was by myself.  I knew I’d buy my dress this past weekend so I invited my cousin, who I’ll also ask to be my Maid/Matron of Honor.  Just one word of caution:  even though you want to include everyone and think this could be a great bonding moment, lots of opinions can really throw you off kilter.

I brought my mom, sister and dad along. I never thought dad would want to come but he really enjoyed the experience (although I’m sure he’d never admit to that). The only family member missing was my 22 year old brother. I’m sure he had better things to do 🙂 I wouldn’t have had it any other way though.. I wouldn’t have wanted a whole bunch of friends there.

I brought my best friend, but she actually had to leave a little early, and so there was no one there when I bought the dress that I ended up buying!

My mom and two of my best girl friends.  I thought it would be a special time with my mom – but as I was picking out dresses, she started looking at MOB dresses and they took her in and started trying on dresses!  Now that I think about it, I’m annoyed at the bridal salon for having her do that – instead of just sitting and letting me experience the moment.

I was super grateful to have the two friends there – they have disparate personalities and I knew would give me their honest opinions.

Take people that will tell you what they really think – and not just fluff to make you feel good.  All those dresses start to seem the same after awhile – IMO.

I had just my mother and tried to cram it into a weekend, which led to dress regret.  I wish I had shopped more and had a friend/sister with me.

Took mom and sis/MOH for first one, mom and Future Mother-In-Law for second, and just mom for third. Ended up buying at the third place.

My Maid/Matron of Honor came with me. And then my mom flew out for the last appointment to “approve” my choice. 🙂
