I ordered my Allure dress in mid-August with hollow-to-hem. I was told it would be in Feb 14. It actually came in on  Dec 14.

I only had a 7 month engagement. Everywhere I went, they told me it was getting to be on the late side of things but I actually didn’t have any trouble at all ordering what I wanted. You do not need 3 months for alterations either. My dress was Maggie Sottero and I think it only took about 3-4 months to come in. Get dress shopping and tell the bridal shop your timeline. I still think you’ll find you have plenty of options.

I ordered my dress in May for my October wedding. It came in I think the first week of September? But the bridal salon had ordered the wrong size, so about five or six weeks before my wedding I was back to square one with NO dress. The salon was able to look up a few styles from Maggie Sottero that were in stock, I picked a new dress, and it came in the same week. Don’t give up hope. And good luck dress shopping!

    Date twin!!!!!

try looking for salons that sell off the rack. the t stores I went to that did that had the dresses in wonderful condition and arranged by size. I even saw the dress I ended up getting in a different color.

You get to walk out of the store with the dress and then just need time for alterations! Im not sure if you’ve ever seen the wedding dress show that takes place at Vows in MA, but the store was nice, everyone was helpful and the prices were extremely pleasing! I’m sure you could find someolace similar here you live!

I’m getting married October 8th and am going to my first appointment on Saturday! I will 100% not be buying a dress that day though, it’s actually just to kind of narrow down ones I like so when my Mum is in town (we only have one day in the city to shop!) I can actually buy my dress. I WILL be buying a dress that day, come hell or high water. Personally, I think you will be fine for time, but definitely look into sample racks OR consignment boutiques.

I had five months to buy a dress, All the dress shops stressed me out saying I couldn’t order in anything and would have to buy off the rack (I am in Australia) But it really wasn’t a problem to buy off the rack as there were sooo many I liked. (and even after buying one I still keep seeing great ones at great prices) Not sure whether it is the same where you are but in Australia it takes 6 months to order in most dresses, although some brands only 3 months. hope this helps someone ๐Ÿ™‚ I suspect they often panic you to push for a sale ๐Ÿ™

I ordered my Allure in January for a September wedding. It came in around the 6 month mark?

One thing I’ll say about David’s is that they go off your wedding date, so if you need something quickly, just lie. I didn’t get my dress there, but my BM’s got their dresses at Davids. We were already in the computer for our September wedding for their dresses. When MY dress came in from a boutique I picked out shoes at David’s to be dyed to match my BM’s. I needed them in time for my first dress fitting, but DB told me they wouldn’t come in until after that. Finally the sales girl let me in on a secret that it wasn’t that they coudln’t get it in on time, it’s because I was in the computer as a certain wedding date. They made me a new customer profile with a wedding date that was like 3 weeks away and wouldn’t you know those shoes came in ASAP.

It’s beautiful! Glad you were able to find something. Is the belt an add-on or part of the dress?
