I wore a strapless bra and a pair of spanx, I felt totally covered up even without my clothes on.

I also learned my lesson about “prettying up” for the consultant; the first few times I went dress shopping i wore a cute outfit, did my hair, make up the whole deal, let me tell you trying on wedding dresses is hot work. When I actually found my dress I wore yoga pants and a tank top, no make up, hair in a ponytail. My consultant actually thanked me. (It took about 4 seconds to get out of my street clothes into the gowns, and I didn’t have to worry about my foundation coming off on the sample gowns)

Boy shorts & strapless bra.  That’s more coverage that most bathing suits.  You’ll be fine. ๐Ÿ™‚

i wore strapless bra and i actually wore lace boyshorts…kinda see-thru, hahaha i don’t know what i was thinking.. apparently i wasn’t… but even though she was in the room with me, i doubt she saw anything amongst all the dresses, and after the first dress i didn’t care.  I was super nervous when i went because i hate changing in front of people too, but she made me feel comfortable.

If you’re going to David’s Bridal and have an appointment, they will actually give you undergarments to wear.

Anywhere else, definitely something comfy, and a strapless bra. And underwear that covers a lot if you’re nervous.  But usually you would change in front of just the consultant, no one else (there are separate changing rooms).

The no makeup idea is great advice! I know I was struggling because I was trying really hard not to get my makeup on any of the dresses!

Good luck!
