This is the dress I’m wanting and I’m going to try it on again at the shop tomorrow. A seamstress some friends and I have used before for different alterations thought it wouldn’t be a problem if I got the 8.
The shop estimated $100-150 for in-house alterations, so a lot cheaper than I expected.

Wow, that’s a beautiful dress!
I ended up ordering one size bigger. I could have gone with my street size but I would have needed it let out a little in the waist and taken in in the bust. Since it’s harder to take out I decided to size up knowing I’d need alterations on the bust anyway.

I had to order my dress two-to-three sizes larger than my normal street dress size.

I personally wouldn’t want my dress taken down 3 sizes. I just feel like that’s a bit much. Yeah, they can do it, but it’s going to cost you an arm & a leg. I wear a size 4 & my allure wedding dress was a 10 & it fit perfectly.

I’m very pear shaped. I wear a 4 or 6 in regular clothes, but according to the chart for my wedding dress, I was a size 2 in the bust, and a size 12 in the hips. My dress was a slim aline- it was pretty form fitting. I fluxuate in weight a bit, and was at my heavier end when I ordered it, so I ordered a 10 and planned just to eat healthier and exercise a bit so it would fit on my hips. The dress barely fit on my hips but was absolutely humongous on the top (like the dress didn’t even touch me). After alterations, you would never know- but my alterations were like 4 or 5 hundred bucks! I think they can definitely do it, but it will definitely cost more in alterations. Here is a picture of my dress on my wedding day.

I’d ask to see Allure’s size chart (bust-waist-hips in inches for each size) so that you can see exactly how much bigger it’ll be. I’m a size 2, and my Blush by Hayley Paige dress is a size 10. It fits almost perfectly, I just need to have the top taken in an inch or two. It fits perfectly in the waist and hips.

Yes, I’ll get sized and they said the seamstress will be in the shop today so I can get her input. Thanks!

I would definitely order larger than you think. I also have an allure bridal gown and they run small. I’m a street size 2/4 and my dress is an 8. I am having to have it taken up a little but the 8 was shockingly close to the right size and my other formal dresses are 2s and 4s. My dress does have a corset back though which can be pulled pretty tight I’m not sure if that makes a difference.

Thank you! They took my measurements and had the sizes been available, I would have been a 4 or 6, so the 8 should be fine, with alterations that the shop said wouldn’t be more than $150. Love Allure! Good choice!
