THe sizing STINKS!  I don’t get it, and I’m with amysue all the way that sizes should be in inches, not arbitrary numbers.  However, I have to say that I loved my bridal salon….they were very smart.  They did not tell me what the size was….they just marked stuff down and ordered it.  There was no reason to tell me what the number was…..what does it matter?  I plan to thank them for that when I go pick up my dress TOMORROW for my wedding on SATURDAY!

isn’t that funny. places charge more for plus sizes. since when is a street 10 a plus size? ALSO petite sizing is one more than regular missy sizes. 6p=4regular.

not sure if someone else posted this, but some manufacturers can custom order based on your measurements & even adjust necklines (if too plunging) etc….I think Jasmine & Casablanca do it, but I went with a La Sposa by Pronovias

Its funny because I also had opposite results. I am normally a 6-8 and my wedding dress is a size 4. It really does depend on the manufacturer. Don’t get too hung up on the numbers. I am sure you will look amazing no matter what! 🙂

that’s normal. just make sure the dress shop does not try to sell you a size bigger than you actually need, which will increase alterations. i have already bought my wedding gown and it is one size larger than my true size of 8. last week i went to buy a bridesmaid dress for a wedding im in, it was at David’s bridal and i told the girl, let me try on an 8, and she brings me a 10 – which ended up being waaaayy to big, like it would not stay up i had to hold it. i tried on the 8 and she was trying to tell me it was too small, but it fit perfectly with a littly room- i think they were just trying to get my money for alterations!

Hey girls. I read half of the comments and realized what the problem is…European/other country sizes are different than American sizes. For example, I am a size 4/5 in the states, yet in Spain (where I live) I wear a 38. Also, in England I’d probably be like a 12/14. So you have to remember that if the dress is from another country then that changes the size too! Don’t feel bad. A size 8 in Australia is like a 0/2 in the USA and any Australian would be bragging about how small her dress was.

I had the same situation. My dress size is 2 sizes larger than the size I normally wear. I agree with the others; choose a dress you love and don’t worry about the numbers! The only one who will know is you:) If the label/size bothers you that much, you can either have it removed or cover it up with a cute embroidered dress label like Ms. Lemon’s:)
