@VivienMarcheline:  I am so glad that you’re street vs dress size is soo different too! I thought I must be the online one. I’m 4-6 street and 10-12 bridal.

@DreamInColor:  My street size is a 0 or 2 in pants and a small or extra small in a top. It all depends on the designer and whether it runs small or large. I ordered a 2 in my wedding dress. It was made by Wtoo by Watters, but I had to have it taken in a smidge.

street size 00

dress size 0 altered down significantly, so really they are the same? My dress designer was Maggie Sottero.

My street size is about a 4-6, and my wedding dress was a size 8!

Im not entirely sure.  I am a street size 10/12, and the 12 bridal gown would have fit me fine in 2 of the 3 body parts.  Per the sizing chart, I would need to lose 1/2 inch in my hips before the wedding. That made me nervous, so I ordered in a 14, and I honestly believe I will be swimming in it 🙁  The sample size was a 10, and it fit pretty well, except the zipper would not zip past my rib cage….but it zipped over my waist, etc.

We shall see!

I’m a street size 5 and ordered a size 8 bridal. The size 8 will not need any alterations.

I’m 8/10 in pants, 4-8 in dresses (depending on style, fit, material etc).

My wedding dress size was…. bigger. Jim Hjelm runs pretty small though. I also had split sizing done. I definitely didn’t need to order the size that I did, the dress had to be taken in a lot, but it worked out fine.

It’s just a number that corresponds with measurements for your bust, waist, and hips.  I am very busty so I have to go up a lot for my bust when my waist and hip measurements are smaller.

im glad to read that y’all’s street and dress size are so different! I am the same way. Street size an 8, wedding dress size a 14!!!! (Even though it would have to be altered down a bit.) I think part of it is having huge boobs haha

@beachbride1216:  haha I just wrote that I had to go from street size 8 to wedding dress size 14 and I’m pretty sure it’s all because of the boobs. They are so inconvenient sometimes

Street: 4 (sometimes 2)

Dress: 10.  It’s Enzoani, which runs small. I went with the 10 so I would have room in my hips to dance. I had a small freak out over being in the double digits, but it’s just a number. 🙂

My wedding dress was about the same size as my street dress size, for a dress with a full skirt. But that is about 6 sizes smaller than my street pants size.

My Maggie Sottero was pretty spot on.  The 16 fit my hips and waist, but I had to order an 18 to fit my boobs (and have it altered quite a bit).  🙂  That’s about normal – I have to buy an 18 in dresses or shirts and I wear a 16 in pants.

I am usually a 14 in street clothes, tried on a 16 in the sample for my gown in store and then when I was measured they ordered me a 20!! I almost had a heart attack.  But, when they measured me even the 18 was going to be much to tight on my hips (my dress is fit and flare).  I am still freaking out that I am going to be swimming in it!
