So Hopefully (keeping my fingers crossed!) I am going to walk down the aisle in my mothers wedding dress. That is if it can get alterated to fit me. It fits everywhere, except the chest area. His grandma is going to see if she can open up the seems and fix it for me. If she is able to we are going to take away the 90s sleeves and the giant bow on the butt.
These would be the sleeves that we would place on it (that is me in the sleeves… sorry about the cleavage shot xD)
What do you think bees?

From what I can see, it looks really flattering on you. I think it is awesome that you are going to wear you mom’s gown 🙂

It’s so nice that you are wearing your mom’s dress! She was married in the ’90’s?? My SISTER was married in ’87!

Is that how you’re going to alter it? It looks lovely! Let’s see a picture of the whole gown, not just the detail shots!

I’d also like to see a full shot. The straps great with the dress, they look like the original (?) What did the sleeves look like prior to this?

I will be sure to get pictures of me in my mom’s dress when we go to see if it can get altered this week. His mom and I went out and tried different sleeves out to see which one we liked best and those are what we came up with. Hopefully we can alter the top of the dress so that it can fit me. Even after having me my mom was smaller on top than I am and I am really not that big. (34b.) My ribcage must be bigger than hers was. That is the only part that doesn’t fit is right at the top. so hopefully we can let it out a little. 🙂
The old sleeves are poofy sleeves. When I wear them it reminds me Ella enchanted.. like so:

It is a little over exageration of course. I don’t know many sleeves that are THAT poofy. But they are shoulder ones. I will have to post pictures of me in it asap.
Those sleeves posted are what I am hoping to put in instead of the ella enchanted sleeves. It looked cute on my mom… not so much on me. Doesn’t quite fit my personality.
@eileen marie: Haha. I wasn’t really planned on. My parents were 19 and 21 when they got married. They got married in July of ’94. Plus I am a very young bride- I will be 18 when my fiance of 3 years (almost 4 on the wedding day) and I get married 🙂
