My dress is a very full A-line. When I went in for my first fitting a month ago, the seamstress told me the crinoline I purchased was not full enough and that I should get a much larger, puffier one. It looked nice with the super full one they had at the store, but something didn’t feel quite right about the shape of it (it was all netting and it stood up on it’s own!)
Anyway, the dress is by Maggie Sottero, and I just noticed there’s a new Maggie Bride who the dress looks great on. It seems like her crinoline is not super full especially compared with the official Maggie pic. What do you ladies think?

I like the real wedding picture better than how it is on the model. A little poof is good, but not over done.

I agree with FloridaMel — the less crinoline-y dress picture looks more natural (and is probably more comfortable!).

Thanks, I’m glad you ladies agree.
Well, I have my next fitting set for tomorrow night. The seamstress already hemmed the dress and added a bustle. So, I will try it with several crinoline options and see how it looks the best. I guess if I go with a less full crinoline, she may need to hem the dress again?

The additional hemming may be the trade off of the non uber poof. But you never HAVE to add poof, it just means the dress would need to be shortened. If you are not comfortable in the uber poof – stand your ground and shorten the dress. Be comfy!!
