@VanillaCoke:  your dress looks fab, and definitely not “too young” at all. Very similar to the pink one (in my opinion anyway), but I think the pink makes it young and really cutesy, so you made the right choice!

Might I also just say, you certainly don’t have the arms of a 40-something year old. Or the figire either. You look great!

@VanillaCoke:  Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!  I will be 43 when I get married next year, and I promise you all these little fears you have……YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!

A couple of things that I have found to be helpful.  First and most important, IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS OR FEELS.  This is your day!!  And you pic the dress that you want!!  I was exactly like you, I really felt silly being old enough to be the mother of the other brides shopping.  And yes, I am still having a mental struggle over wearing an ivory gown on my wedding day.  Secondly, we change as we get older.  Our body, our skin, our mind……everything changes.  Don’t fall into the trap of comparing your self to other brides.  You are you, and your dear fiance has chosen you!!  I am guilty of wishing I was younger, and comparing myself to others.  I still look at myself in my dress and think OMG are you kidding.  My finace had to remind me the other day that he doesn’t want to marry a 20 or 30 year old, he want to marry me.  Now only if I could accept that my body has changed……you know what I am saying??

Just because we are older doesn’t mean we don’t deserve a princess wedding.  I think now that I am older, I have the advantage of doing exactly what I want.  Mom, Dad, and whoever else in NOT involved in the decision making process.  I have opted for a very small Destination Wedding, private invite only.  We will have 10 guests, mostly because I don’t do big OTT events.  I don’t want the added stress of having to feel like I have to entertain everyone……I really want this day to be about us, and those who are closest to us.

You look lovely in your dress.  Try not to think about your age vs all the young brides.  Try to stay focused on you and your day.  It will be fine!!
