I always thought that I’d end up with a mermaid lace dress (and I still might), but I tried on the dress below and really liked how it fit – I love the rouching and the soft sweetheart neckline and how the dress hugs the body in all the right places. It definitely felt like a “hot” dress and yet it was soft and romantic.
Now that I have discovered that I do like this shape and style, I would like to see if you have some suggestions on similar dresses that I should check out. Ideally I’d like to see if there is exactly the same dress out there but with better quality fabric – I can’t explain that in words but the fabric has a bit of a sheen to it and I’d prefer a more softer feel (if such fabric even exists). The other reservation I have is the train and the view from the side/back .. seems a bit odd, no? Other than that, I love the front view. It’s too bad that they did not let me take a picture wearing it!
so here are the photos …

What’s your budget? That’s important when looking for dress suggestions 🙂

@prettysouls: Ofcourse 🙂
My budget is 3k. The maximum I’d like to go to is 4k and that is including taxes, alternations and veil, the whole deal. The dress above was about $1800.

Is that the Allure Romance 2557?
If you were looking for lace, maybe the Tara Keeley 2200
Or this dress, but I don’t know the name of it (sorry if that’s not helpful):

Thank you both for your feedback! I had a look through all the suggestions. The dress in the original picture is from a bridal shop that carries their own brand and yet they have one store only from as far as I can tell .. therefore I’m thinking that their dresses might be designer ‘inspired’. So I was hoping to find the one that ‘inspired’ it 🙂 The dress is very similar to the Allure one but the rouching on the bottom is different – Allure has raw edges while this dress has “folded” edges.
What I like about it is the folded edges on the rouching (vs. raw edge or regular straight edge) and the simplicity of the top and how the dress is very tight on top yet it flares out gently as opposed to a sudden cut-off. I like how it starts to flare out in the area that is just below hips, so it shows off the hips and bum nicely and yet doesn’t flare out too low like trumpet dresses. I must say that Kara Keely one does look very nice as well!

The allure 2557 does look a bit different in person then it does in the online pictures, here’s one for reference 🙂
