@Shkragoldfish: Do you know what I fully agree with the sash comment. I sometimes think when I see thread on here, ‘no, not a sash, the dress doesn’t need one, what is the obsessesion with them’! THANK YOU. I wouldn’t normally say the Dakota needs one, but as I say the bow sash on the last pic you posted looks lovely, but it would be interesting to see what it looks like from the front.

@Shkragoldfish: I wouldn’t want anything sewn in as then it’s like out of your control. TBH I don’t know how the material ones tie, I’d never given it any thought, but now guessing they tie up at the back. I like the ones that are material as per the pic and have bling on the front. Or you old have a bling sash as posted by a PP. Let me tell you this for a giggle if nothing else, I didn’t think I was a bow girl and guess what became my theme without me not realising it until after… bows lol

@Shkragoldfish:  I like your thinking, that dress is just gorgeous and I think putting a belt on it takes away from the timelessness of it and does interupt the line. But that is so reasonable of you –do this for your ceremony and then blign it out a bit for your MIL’s event, good compromise!

@Shkragoldfish:  You do not understand just how happy your sash comments male me. I agree with you 100% (if you look in previous sash/belt threads, you’ll see that I’m usually dust off my soapbox to rant about the unnecessary obsession with making your waist look wider/yourself look shorter). Essentially, I just want to say that I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly, and I think the constant sash/belt suggestions are because it’s such a popular trend at the moment. A trend I cannot wait to dwindle/die out…

Anyway, I understand what you mean about the neckline of the La Soie. I prefer lace all the way to the bust (and scalloped), and the Dakota’s bustline is superior. I just adore the lace on the La Soie and the size of that flare! La Soie gowns range from $1,100 – $5,000, but I don’t know the style number/name of that lace mermaid.

@Shkragoldfish:  I just tried this dress and love it!!! Can anyone post more photos?  My mom feels the ivory is too dark and I should get white…have any bees ordered white or ever saw an Enzoani “white” dress, most say ivory online.  I’m looking for a size 4 🙂  I would love to see more photos of Dakota brides!!!

@Shkragoldfish I think you look gorgeous in your dress!  I’m having mine altered to a sweetheart neckline and doing a blingy sash.  it’s perfect on you!

@Happiestbridetobe I just got my Enzoani Dakota and I love it!  Mine is ivory and I think the color is great

@Shkragoldfish by the way…it also looks great without a sash.  I wanted a little bling, but not harsh, so I picked one to mimic the lace design.  I also really wanted one with little pearls to pick up my pearl earrings.  Soooo many options!  :-). Have you made any decisions?

I tried on the dakota dress today and will be ordering it! The addition of a belt/sash is a must in my opinion. I find the lace all the way down with nothing to break it up a little plain. The store i went to added an alfred sung belt to the dakota tied with a pretty bow in the back. It added a little bit of bling without being over the top. I loved it! We tried some other belts but none were as nice.

With regard to the addition of crinoline underneath I dont think this is necessary. The sample dakota i tried on in the store today had 5 layers underneath! I cant imagine adding any more! Just my opinion!

I am going back in an week and a half with my Mom and will be trying it on again! cant wait!

also – it looked gorgeous with a cathedral veil with lace on the edges!

OMG! I am experiencing the same thing! I put a 50% deposit on the Enzioani Dakota but now I am in love with the Tara Kelly 2200 and Alvina Valenti 9350. I don’t what to do……This is really overwhelming. My choices are: purchase both dresses and have a dress change, not return to pick up my Dakota or wear my Dakota.

Ladies – Can you please help me!!!

Here I am the the Dakota. One with a belt and straps and one with just a veil. On the wedding day I took off the veil and added the belt and straps after the ceremony. Hope these pics are helpful.

By The Way, two weeks after the wedding I washed my dress in my front-loading washing machine. I put it on gentle with cold water and it turned out PERFECTLY! The bottom of the dress was black and I spilled red wine on the front, so I didn’t think it would work…but it did!!! It’s as clean as the day I brought it home.
