That’s exactly the kind of dress I was picturing as I was reading your ‘vision’…

shayshayman:  I don’t usually care for that style of dress but I think it is gorgeous and will fit your vision perfectly!

shayshayman:  I think your dress is an excellent choice!

If you were looking for other suggestions – and if your budget could extend to her – Hayley Paige springs to mind as someone who designs contemporary, fashion-foward designs. Here are some examples:

Tara Keely is a cheaper version of the same label:

Essense designs/Stella York

Martina Liana

Matthew Christopher

Maggie Sottero

As you can probably tell, I associate “contemporary” with tight fitting dresses, lots of texture in the skirt, maybe asymmetrical features, bling and patterns – or alternatively something fairly minimal – but not a lot of lace or big skirts.

Normally I wouldn’t think of lace as contemporary but the design on your Allure gown is so unique I think it is more a modern take on lace. Usually when I think contemporary I think something sleek and with clean lines but I think the allure has a unique artistic design.
