I wouldn’t expect them to have empty seats or space to hang the bag in first class.  A lot of flights now are completely booked up.  I would be prepared to have it steamed when you arrive so that there aren’t any wrinkles on it from traveling in the bag.

My friend flew 6.5 hr flight and could not get her dress pressed prior to wedding in CA. She was told to fold it in white bag (like a white trash bag) and do not let wedding dress material touch other wedding dress material. She was able to put it somewhere on the plane. She hung it up when she got home and in 1-2 days it looked perfect without a press on wedding day she says.

I have the same 6.5 hr flight from Boston to Cali and I’m planning on overnight fed-exing mine. It costs a pretty penny but piece of mind, and I’m stopping off for a few days at a friends house in So Cal and don’t want to be hauling this dress all around. I plan on ensuring a taylor can press once I’m home.

Good luck!
