I have tried on dozens of dresses at this point, and I am getting seriously discouraged. I’ve seen a few that look OK, but they aren’t my ideal style. Meanwhile, there are 2 dresses I can’t get out of my head: Jim Hjelm 8810 and the Paloma Blanca 3858.
You would think that living in NYC would make finding either one of these to try on a breeze– wrong! I’ve been to RK Bridal, Klienfelds, called all the authorized dealers in the area to no avail. Any bees in my area have one? Where did you find it?
Any suggestions for dresses that look similar that I might be able to find?

Did you ask any of those places if they can order them in or get them in when theyre having a trunk show? Sometimes stores will do that, although some stores charge for it too. It doesnt hurt to ask, especially if youre dying to try them on.

Both are gorgeous, but I personally love the PB.
Is it that you’re having trouble finding salons in the area that carry these designers, or that you can’t find one that has a sample to try? I had that problem when I wanted to try a specific dress (different designer). Someone suggested to me to contact their customer service and see if they can tell you stores in the area that they sent a sample to.

I would try Kleinfeld’s for the Jim Hjelm; I know they carry that line. I don’t know if you’ve checked these places already, but there’s also Wedding Atelier and Adrienne’s? Or a shop out on Long Island or in NJ?

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! After making tons of calls and a failed trip to Adriennes (they thought they had it but didnt!) I DID find it at House of Bottecelli in Bronxville, and tried it on. It is PERFECT. It looks exactly as I imagined it would .
