Wedding dress shopping is HARD. I have bought gowns and then changed my mind and sell them because I fall out of love with them. Everytime I think I know what I want my opinion changes.
Latest escapade..bought a Maggie Adorae Rose because I loved the Adorae and it was more of a unique gown (Ithink there are quite a few brides that have the original Adorae). Don’t get me wrong its beautiful but I wanted sleeves and it was a total impulse purchase because Sottero and Midgely stopped manufacturing it. I love the shape and the flowers….should I keep it?…What do you all think of this gown?
Does anyone want a new (sample), ivory, size 8, Adorae Rose?

@sweetmaus: I love Adorae, because I wore her! Very flattering.
You’ve got PLENTY of time before your wedding, maybe lay off the dress shopping until you have a better vision of what you’re looking for.

@sweetmaus: Ahhh, OP, I feel your pain! I have bought, and am in the process of selling, FIVE dresses. I feel like I have finally found the ONE, and I’m finished. Photos of the dress are good; photos of you in the dress are best…

My 2 cents…
I fell in love with a lace mermaid dress when I got engaged. And after spending months dress shopping I realized that basically everyone who’s getting married right now is doign it in some kind of mermaid shaped dress.
I got totally burnt out on those mermaid dresses and then got super confused and was trying on everything they had. I finally stopped dress shopping and stopped looking for a good solid month. Having cleared my head, I went back to the very first style I had thought of the second I thought about getting married, which was a knee lenth dress. And I bought it and stopped looking after that. 🙂 I think you could make yourself crazy if you never stopped looking at dresses.

This is the gown. I don’t have a pic of me in it but its gorgeous because eit fits like the Adorae which makes everyone look good.

@lolot: I posted a pic on the thread of the gown but not one with me in it. There are brides on this site that have worn the Adorae Rose though.

your pretty far out from your date, my reccomendation is, compile a list (posisbly pintrest?) of dresses you like between now and the end of the year (novemberish…) because what you love now could change by then.
I’ll use myself as an example. Fiance asked me to marry him in August 2011, the ring made it official in Dec 2011, I dress shopped the following month in Jan 2012 after going to two salons (one was davids bridal where I only sort of liked one…) second salon in I bought a dress based on a somewhat limited budget. I didn’t even get to try on dresses I liked in certain styles because this salon was pricey and they were out of my price range. Our date was Sept 2012.
4 months before the wedding we decided to postpone due to finances and several other things. I had already bought first dress via no returns or exchanges so it came home with me.
This past Dec we rescheduled our date for June, cool I already have the dress…I put it on, it was beautiful but was not the feeling I wanted when marrying my soul mate. I sat on it for 2 months before I choose to sell that one and go dress shopping again. 2 salons later and about 20 dresses, I found my dream dress AND I had more $ to spend this time. It took me 4 months to sell the other one LOL and I lost about 30% of what I paid.
Defintely sit on the one you have…worst case scenario is you fall back in love with it. In the meantime I would not buy anymore, set a hard fast rule of a date that you will not buy anymore period or even try on until that date maybe?
Hope This Helps 🙂
