My biggest/longest contender (within budget) was this gown.  I had the hardest time letting it go.  It only came in one length and I was going to loose a lot of the bottom plus it wasn’t a practical choice for my wedding.

So I bought this one.  Not what I thought I wanted shape wise, but it is quite “me”.

@LilacViolet:  Is your dress in yet?  I just bought the Maude today but I won’t be getting it till June-ish (hopefully!)

Do you have a picture of you in your dress that you’d be willing to post?

The first time I saw the Maude dress, I fell in love with it.  I knew it would be my dress!  Now that I bought it, I’m plagued with the “what ifs”.  What if I don’t like it?  What if it doesn’t look good on me? What if I like it, but others hate it?  What if….what if….

@Maria444:  Hey, PM with your email address. I’m not posting pics on the boards cuz my Fiance knows I’m on here and knows my name. I leave my laptop open too much.

Edit: Also, WOOT another Maude bride!!! You must join the thread…oh you did! Well PM me ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted something really simple. And, I actually bought that really simple dress. And then I  immediately regreted it because I realized for my wedding I wanted something *special*, not what I would wear normally.  I ended up getting a second dress that had a little bit of pearls and a little bit of lace and buttons down the back, and it was just perfect.

maggie sottero nicolette was the first dress that i ever ripped out of a magazine.

i couldn’t find it in store but was able to try on… sottero midgley kendra. i actually liked kendra more because there was a more distinct sweethear neckline and i ALMOST bought this one especially since i found it on sale for $800.

but then my friend talked me into trying on the adorae because she thought the pickups and train were too much on kendra. i never thought i could pull off something so fitted like the adorae but when i tried it on, i really liked it! but i didn’t like how shiny it was.

so here is what i ended up with: winnie couture’s kamila with a few alterations. it’s a nice balance between the adorae and the kendra. =)

This is the dress I fell in love with online. I never found it in stores to try it on though no matter how much calling around I did and I didn’t want to get a dress I hadn’t tried on. I never even found a picture of it on a real bride no matter how much I searched online.

This is the dress I ended up getting. It was one of my inspiration photos but I didn’t realize that until after I got it.

I really thought that I wanted an A-line gown, ideally chiffon, but definitely with side-ruching, off the shoulder sleeves, and a corset back, like this dress:

My dress journey after that was a little complicated. My first dress love was the Da Vinci 50092:

However, I wasn’t completely sold and kept looking. Then I went through a slew of dresses that broke every one of my “rules,” namely Alfred Angelo gowns with taffeta and pickups both of which are really not for me. Then I tried on Ella Rosa BE160 and it was all over:

I’ll be adding ruched cap sleeves with the extra netting from the hem. ๐Ÿ™‚

What I thought I would want.

The Dress I originally purchased

Then I realized the dress wasn’t me. It was too heavy and too formal for me. So I bought this dress and added a nice heavily beaded belt.

I am very happy with my choice. I look amazing and I cant wait for my fiance to see me for the first time.
