Okay, So i need to start looking for about three dresses for my two showers and the rehershal. One shower is in April, one in june and the rehershal is in july.
Size wise I am top heavy. When I got measured for my wedding gown, I basically measured for a 22 in my bust, a 16/18 in my stomach and a 14 in the thighs. I know very little about the shower in april but it’s being held at my mom’s house. My shower in June has a tea party theme. And our rehersal is at the church then our back yard.
I don’t want to spend too much on each of the dresses, probably about $50 each. I’ve checked out modcloth and they have a couple that are okay. I am just wondering if anyone else has any other good places to shop. Lane bryant, while its a nice store, never has anything I like. My wedding colors are variations of blue, with sapphire being the main blue, and also a yellow accent.
So where do you ladies shop for your important dresses? suggestions and pictures would be great!

Hey we have the same wedding date! I’m in the same boat – looking for a rehearsal dinner dress and a shower dress. I’ve found some at ASOS and JCrew.

Check out JCPenny for their styles. I found a redic dress in their clearence that I am wearing for my rehhearsal for $60.
I also recently found (through here) Rent The RunWay. I may be doing this for my shower dresses.
I also like Modcloth, Dorothy Perkins, Asos, – I could go on forever. I am a dress hound.

I’m going to order something from eshakti.com. I’ve bought from them a few times, and they are great. You can also do custom measurements for just a few dollars more. Which would be a good option for you.
Also, the dresses from them come with pockets built in, and I always find myselfr more comfortable that way. Order a few weeks before you need it though, it takes a couple of weeks for them to make the dress and then it ships from China.

I get a lot of dresses from torrid. Macy’s also has a nice plus size selection online. forever 21 also offers plus size for really cheap. Good luck!

Thanks, i’m looking up all suggestions as I type. It’s just so hard with the boobs as big as they are. I just don’t want to look like a tent. And I know there will be lots of photos of me in these dresses, so I want to look decent.

Look at Asos! They are an online shop, they have a regular line that sells their own brand as well as other brands, and they have a plus size line called “Curve.” Although I’m not technically plus size I have bought so many things from that line and altered it because it has the best clothes. The great thing about Asos is that you can key in what you’re looking for and then narrow the results and return pages and pages of items that are similar to your vision. When I was looking for a peplum top with sleeves I returned maybe 10 pages with results of all long sleeved peplum tops.
For the wedding I bought my shower dress from Asos. I didn’t want the typical white, and since the shower was in January I went with something a little darker. It was black with long sleeves with red flowers all over it, which gave it a nice pop of color, IMO. In my culture we don’t have a rehearsal dinner, but for the event that was most like it, I wore a black and white dress from Asos (had to have a ribbon attached on the bottom to lengthen it a little by a seamstress) that was so pretty! I really cannot recommend this website enough. I have never had to return anything for being unflattering or not fitting correctly. I’ve bought a leopard print dress, a black party dress, three peplum shirts and a peplum skirt. All have been flattering!
Here’s a few things I found just now in the Asos Curve line.

They have A TON more. I just picked a few things that immediately stood out to me because they were white/blue.
