I am wondering if there are any other shorties out there who have been trying on dresses and can tell me what you have found that does and doesn’t work for you. I also am a size 14, and just think it’s going to be a nightmare finding something that looks good. TIA!

I’m 5’0, pear shaped, and plenty curvy. I’m also definitely in the plus sized group. I found that I could’ve gotten away with trumpet, fit n flares, and a-lines easily. What I’m ending up with is none of those lol. My dress will be a ballgown which is mostly a “no” for someone of my stature. I was openminded when I initially started my dress hunt but I found that traditional ballgowns tended to turn me into a cupcake. The one I chose is made in a way that it’s like a wide skirt a-line dress.

5’3 here, curvy, athletic hourglass is what I call it 😉 I went with a sheath/trumpet. Found those were the most flattering. As the other pp said, the puffy dresses made me look like a cupcake. And shorter. Something with clean unbroken lines is the best. Curve hugging, even tho it seems counterintuitive!!
