I know this is in the “dress” section but I’m not talking about my wedding dress… I need dresses for the bridal shower, bachelorette, rehearsal, after-party, and honeymoon–whew, that’s a lotta dresses!
Any other short Bees have recommendations for places/brands of dresses that work on petite chicks? I’m just shy of 5’1 and I’m having a hard time finding cute dresses that don’t look like they’re too big for me, or made for someone much older than me (I’m 23). I love to shop online, but most of the time when I order a dress online, I’m going on the picture of the 5’11 model and then when I put the dress on, it’s way too long and makes my little legs look even shorter.
Any suggestions would be great! I love to shop and all these wedding events are a great reason to add some cute dresses to my wardrobe 🙂 Thanks guys!

Modcloth has some great dresses that tend to run pretty small. 🙂 I’m 5’4″ and have never had a problem with length (just be sure you measure yourself properly). Also, don’t discount the awesomeness of having a dress hemmed and tailored so it fits you properly!

Modcloth has so many cute dresses! You’re probably right about getting stuff hemmed–I have to do that to my jeans (or wear sky high heels) so I guess getting my dresses hemmed wouldn’t be too much different.
Any other shorties in here?

I’m a little on the short side at 5’1″ 🙂
I’ve had good luck with Banana Republic and Ann Taylor dresses, but my cutest have been one-offs (ie, not a particular brand) from Piperlime or found at Nordstrom.
Another advocate for hemming with dresses; with jeans, I can just turn up the bottom or wear a high heel, but the proportion of skirt to top is sometimes weird if you don’t get dresses hemmed. I hate that, cause it tacks more money onto the cost of the dress! I haven’t found anything cute for wedding-related stuff yet, but my eyes are open!

I’m 5’3″ and I third ModCloth! They have a huge selection and are reasonably priced. I’ve had luck finding dresses at Express and Guess as well. I think they’re meant to be mini-skirt length, but usually hit me a bit above the knee.

I agree with ModCloth and Express! Also you might want to try Victorias Secret. I’m 4’11 and love dresses from there.

Yeah, I’m 5’1 and I shop all the stores the rest of the bees do – Banana Republic and Ann Taylor are my favorites for in store, and of course online, Mod Cloth!

I’m 5’2″ but to be honest I often just buy regular sized and hem… my torso is very long for my height and my shoulders are broad so regular proportions are usually better than pettite as long as I hem to the right length with my super short legs.

I’m about 5’2 1/2 (all you petite brides know the half counts!) and pretty much all of my favorite dresses are from BCBG. They fit me perfectly. Banana Republic petites fits pretty well too.

I have found cute dresses at urban behaviour and sirens. No particular brand but, they seem to fit well and i am 5’3.
