Honestly, don’t just search in the high range of your budget and leave out other dresses. My budget was much higher than what I paid for for my Sottero & Midgley dress and but that was fine.  I looked at a broad range of prices.

Kitty Chen has some awesome dresses.  I fell in love with one online but sadly it wasn’t the one.

Happy Shopping!

@MarryTheNight24:  I don’t like satin either 🙂

Check out the facebook page of this designer, as well as her website and blog site. She designed me a gown, but I ended up going with a different designer (who can accommodate the whole bridal entourage).

I promise you’ll be ahhh-mazed with her work. Check it out for inspiration. She works with a lot of international clients. They communicate through video calling and she ships the muslin cloth back and forth for fitting. Definitely worth checking out.

Good luck!

@MarryTheNight24:  She quoted me for a little under CAD$4500. But I wanted a special fabric (pina cocoon silk — which really jacked up the price). She designed a low-waist, fit and flare, with illusion neckline, fully-beaded bodice and the beadwork running down the back of the skirt and throughout the entire train. For that price, it includes either a cathedral or mantilla veil, a head dress, and a customized shoes and bags to match the gown. It also comes with the accessories required for a Catholic ceremony — pillows for the rings, arrae and the bible, garter, cord, second veil.

The beadwork is to die for, they don’t use cheap material like satin, and the workmanship is fabulous.

Ahhh… most days I get dress regret. Frown

What about BHLDN dresses?  They’re definitely unique, but they might not be fancy enough!

@MarryTheNight24:  Jenny Packham? Maybe not as big as you’d like but most very similar to what Kate Moss wore

@DizzyFairy:  The beadwork is intricate, so it’s not cheap. But the pina fabric I chose made it more expensive. The daughter of my mom’s friend (in San Francisco) paid about 6K, but you pay for what you get.

@MarryTheNight24:  Veluz only makes wedding gowns. And since I’m in Canada, it’s more convenient for me to pick one designer who can dress up the whole entourage.

I ended up choosing Edward Teng. My gown and reception dress have beads and applique. (Most days I still dream of illusion necklines and fluffy skirts.)

Almost done. Mikado silk fabric.

The back will have flowers similar to this when it’s done.

And my reception dress. In pina cocoon silk.
