unicornwolf :  thank you so much ❤️ The second dress was actually the reason that I wanted to try on BHLDN dresses in the first place, it was a little underwhelming in person. When I put on MY dress I got chills and didn’t want to take it off.

I knew I did not want a ball gown as we are having a cottage wedding in August; however, ball gowns are my FH’s favourite silhouette. I tried a ball gown on and asked my Maid/Matron of Honor to snap a photo that I will later gift to my FH. ❤️

This is my “YES” dress. ❤️

chitownyogini :  I know you didn’t choose it, but that second dress is beautiful and so was the one in your next post!

It’s too soon for a vow renewal but I’m really wanting an excuse to go buy another beautiful gown after taking a look in here! lol

My dress hunt was quite the ride! We had a longer engagement (3 years) which we loved, since that meant more time for planning, but it also meant many more hours of trying on different style of dresses and designers.

I thought I originally wanted a really dramatic mermaid style dress with a fun train. Then I went through a phase of wanting a fun colored gown and tried on many Hayley Paige designs. I ended up not liking any of her silhouettes on me, and wanted to look more bridal.

Here’s what I thought I wanted originally:

This is what I ended up choosing:

I loved how lightweight, airy, and romantic this dress felt. I wasn’t constrained while walking and knew that I could be comfortable dancing the night away. I honestly first fell in love with all of the small details… beaded straps, illusion back, glitter tulle overlay. I did not think I would go for a style like this, but maybe after trying on the same dramatic mermaids, I just got sick of them and it was refreshing to see something different. It ended up being perfect for our spring, vineyard wedding!

These were a couple of my no’s. I wanted something super flowy and Aline but these just didnt have that “special” once in a lifetime wedding dress feel to them.

Then this is my “YES” dress. I definitely didnt picture myself in a skirt like this but it really made the dress feel a little more special

I found a dress that was out of my budget. It looked great on me and I was very tempted. My husband was ready to buy it for me on credit, but we decided against it. I’m glad that we went with the dress that was in our budget.

What a fun thread! I knew my dress was the dress after the first time I tried it on but I decided to make sure & soak up the planning process alittle long and tried on a bunch. Here are a few of my “strongly considered but no’s”

And here is my dress that I still wish I could wear right now!
