I’ve written on here a few times about dress regret. WELL, recently my FI FINALLY confessed that he really wants to get married in a church. What? He’d never said anything about this before, and it wasn’t part of our original plan. We originally planned to get married in a casino. The dress I chose was very casino appropriate:
However, this dress is NOT church appropriate. At all. My dress questioning turned into major dress regret and I started to freak out.
Let me just say that I’ve always thought that ceremony/reception dresses were a stupid idea. Why wouldn’t you wear your wedding dress all night if you only get to wear it once??? Well, maybe because I’m not that crazy about wedding dresses. And maybe because I’m switching from a CHURCH to a CASINO, which are two very different venues that call for two very different manners of attire.
But would I go out and drop another $1K on another dress? Would I try to sell my own dress? I couldn’t decide. Until I read all the reviews on here about Dressilyme and I said to myself, why the heck not? I just want a church dress I can wear for an hour tops before changing into my sexy-red-carpet reception dress. It’s not going to be perfect, but nothing ever is. Besides, I am definitely just going to donate the ceremony dress after the wedding, anyway.
I wrote to Dressilyme yesterday, and they are sending me fabric samples in the mail today! I’m already impressed by the service. I’ll keep you updated.
