I really like your reception dress its really gorgeous!! If the second dress doesn’t worwoot have you consider in asking them to make your reception dress into a ball gown it will look really pretty!! JusI giving opinion tho 🙂 keep us posted I love to see end results for your second dress
WHY would they put white on ivory…?? How foolish. You need to say something to them to get this fixed. It doesn’t look right. I can’t believe they would think it would be alright.
Just to comment on the dents on the pleats of the first dress (which is gorgeous BTW!)
My chinese replica dress has the exact same thing and when I looked closely there were little plastic ‘darts’ or thread which were holding the pleats together. I cut them all thinking I could subtly re-stitch them myself. I haven’t gotten around to doing it yet, but where the darts were there is still an indent and a little hole in the material. I’m thinking it will look fine (as will yours) but just so you’re not totally taken aback when you recieve it like I was!
Just stopping by to say I hope you get your second dess sorted! They can be pretty accommodating, so I am hoping they will agree to cut down the appliques as you asked without any further costs. For what it’s worth, I quite like the wider the applique, but I think you’re right about getting rid of the sticky-out scalloping. And I agree it’s definitely worth persevering till the end after all this and I am sure you can iron out the smaller details yourself.
Also, are these dresses straight off their website or are they custom requests?
A couple things to note.
One, they wouldn’t alter thge length of the lace trim, nor show me any other options, so i just ok’ed it and I’ll wait to see if i hate it or love it once I’ve tried it on.
Two, the pics they took are darker than the previous set, so the ivory dress itself looks more white than ivroy. However! The applique and the dress color match. So I am super happy!
Three, they used a dummy 3 sizes smaller this time when taking the pictures. Before I noticed that i was all worried because the bodice seemed kind of rumpled and the corset was laced so much tighter. So hopefully on me it will be smoother.
Alright, here are the pics.
I can see more of the layers in this pic than the previous pic, so that makes me happy.
The bodice here looks great. I asked them to replace the applique as close as they could to the white and they did a fairly good job. They used silver beading as well as white this time, so it sparkles a bit more. ( I still plan on adding crystals myself too! need more sparkle!) The only thing that worries me here, is that it looks like the organza rouching doesn’t go up to the sweet heart neckline? I’m hoping that’s just where the rouching ends. The line wasn’t so obvious before…
The back still looks great. A bit wrinkles in places, but so much better with ivory and ivory.
Here’s a close up of the back. It looks like even more applique was added than they originally did! But it might just look like more becase the corset is so much tighter.
Anywho, I’ve gone ahead and just ok’ed it all. It’s a beautiful dress! Espeically for $200.00. I could never afford a salon dress and this is pretty much my dream dress! Anything I’m not 100% happy with I have a year to fix so I’m not worried. Once I recieve it, I’ll post some pics of me trying it on with the petticoat! I just can’t wait to get my hands on these dresses!~
I can’t wait to see them on you, they’re both beautiful! (glad they fixed the lace!)
Wow! What a difference that color change made! It’s just gorgeous….I love it now! And because of the lack of contrasting colors with the lace and the rest of it, the lace trim doesn’t look too thick anymore. I’m so glad you spoke up and demanded they take note and what you really want – it’s stunning now. I can’t wait to see it on, and with a puffy petticoat! It really looks SO different now. LOVE IT! I’m glad it all worked out for you – I also ordered my dress from them, saw the first pictures, asked for some tweaks, then ended up with my dream dress. It also fit me PERFECTLY, based on the measurements I sent them. Glad they came through for you in the end.
I actually like the wider lace better than the name-brand dress! I like the way it makes the ruffles kind of stand out a bit. It’s absolutely gorgeous for $200.00, and even if you pay triple that for alterations, you’re still ahead of the game!
Can’t wait to see it, I am glad that you did not give up on what you wanted. It was ridiculous of them to put white appliques over an ivory gown! What?! Also, your first dress is ADORABLE. I want it!!
it looks great! The change from the white (which looked so odd on the ivory) is much better! I love your short dress too! Both are such pretty dresses!
so much better! congrats 🙂 can’t wait to see pics on you!
