Bees, I had a dream about my dress and woke up to find that I had received pics from Karen last night! I am so excited. Please tell me what you think! My dress is a replica of Maggie Sottero Brielle from 2009. I paid $143.05 including shipping and a garment bag! I got the dress when it was 40% off last month.
Here is the inspiration dress:
And here is mine! The front:

I feel like the bodice looks really short. The proportions look off to me…

I think it looks amazingly similar! Gorgeous and such a bargain!

Hm, I have it side by side to the original and I am not seeing that…I am short-waisted though, so maybe that’s why. It’s custom size.

It is quite similar and nice, however I do not think it will look the same as in the orginial maggie picture because the bodice piece looks way too short and the bottom with the pickups is going to be up around your waist. If you like that though, the it should be good!

I think you got an amazing deal! Congratulations and do post photos of you in that dress when you get it:)

Thanks! I think it looks really close too. Maybe a little less drop at the waist but I think I am good with it…

The dress is beautiful. There are a number of inaccuracies but at this price it is definitely worth it 🙂 If you want accuracy, put the 2 photos side by side and compare in similar scale and angle. Here are some of my observations: there should probably be 7 pleats for the bodice followed by lace and a sash, and they seem to have made 5 pleats and the sash is a bit too wide compared to the original. Some of the bubbles for the skirt do not lay in the correct general direction (especially the first layer, on the left side of the dress) but this part is usually very difficult in dress construction. Make sure they measure the dress length for the front with a larger underskirt/petticoat though, the petticoat they used seem to give volume smaller than the original. And the original seems to be a drop waist and they appear to have made it normal waist. But definitely a good job considering the first set of photos. How about photos for the back?

I am going to ask her to measure and tell me how long it is, just to be sure. I am getting nervous now…
I definitely will post pics. I think the detail on it looks amazing.

The craftsmanship looks good to me, but I think the pick ups at the top of the skirt are way too big and blousy, but maybe they’ll settle down a little? Or maybe you prefer it that way? Just my taste 🙂
I agree that the bodice looks really short compared to the original, but maybe it’ll fit you perfectly once you receive it. The only thing that matters is that YOURE happy!
