Yes, I love it, don't change a thing!

No, I don't think it looks right...and here is what you need to have them fix:

I hate it and no amount of fixing will help!

The thing I see is that the corset looks off. I am assuming they matched the dressmaking dummy to your measurements and the corset looks to wide in the middle. It isn’t coming to an even v all the way down like it should.

@Mrs. Myrtle Beach: I think they have done a good job. In your last post you said they promised it would look 80% the same as the pics right?? I think they have definitely done that.

Cant wait to see pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

3 main inaccuracies for the back:

    1. There should be 7 cascading layers, but they seem to have made 6.  It is no big deal since you are shorter than the model.

    2. There is not enough volume for the back to support the beautiful cascading bubble “waterfall design”, ask them to use an underskirt with train and add more hard tulle to the skirt and train.  Should be able to achieve the effect this way.

    3. Maybe they haven’t finished up the train yet, but the sides are too wide compared to the original.  They need to be trimmed.

Overall it looks good, just a few fixes to make and a great deal ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t think the skirt is poofy enough..it kinda goes straight out then drops down rather than being a gradual poof, if that makes sense. The top is very pretty!

1 more thing for the back:

The cascading waterfall layers on the original appear to be increasing in width 1 layer after another, where they seem to have made it reversed for the first 4 layers.

The original: first layer shortest, 2nd layer a bit longer, 3rd layer longer, 4th even longer, 5th layer is longest among the 5 layers and reaches the floor.

Replica: first 2 layers being widest, then 3rd layer a bit narrower, and last layer is most narrow where it reaches the floor

The same problem actually applies to the bottom of the skirt for the front, but not as obvious compared to the back.

And the original dress appears to be in A-Line silhouette, but the replica appears too “ball gown” for its silhouette.  The outer contour of the dress (the 2 sides from top to floor) does not fall as smooth as the original.

Not sure if this effect matters to you though, but it is definitely a big inaccuracy when it comes to making the pickups/bubbles.

Ask them to fix it and it should be easy to adjust at this stage ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree with some of the other posters – the torso looks a little short, especially if you are 5’6 but, if you have a short torso and you sent them your measurements I am sure it will all work out. It does look VERY similar to the inspiration picture though.

Ask them what is the bust size of their size 18 mannequin, it is usually 42.5″
