I need a second opinion on a dressing a bridal party – especially a groom.
My groom and I met doing Renaissance Faires. We have a lot of medieval flair, history and of course don’t mind a good dose of fantasy at Renfaires. .
I am wearing this, with a circlet and short veil (yes, slightly princess):
My Maid of Honor is wearing the top, with my two bridesmaids wearing the one below:
My Groom wants to consider wearing a custom Renaissance Doublet over a white dress with generic black suit pants, like the one seen here:
With a lot of thought (and a little reluctance on my part, I like the slightly nod to medieval corsets and princess/flowy, not sure about the costume piece on him). It might go for this kind of look in real life, from Alfred Angelo’s catalog for its Disney Collection:
Do you think it could work? Put the groomsmen in very simple black suits (no vests!) or a nice white dress shirt, black suit pants and tie?
I shoudl say its a 6 p.m. ceremony in outdoor patio garden with reception in a historic estate.
