@Mrs.Vowrenewal:Hugs!
I don’t even know what that is, but I hate training trips and when he’s on duty, so I think I a little bit understand.
Weekends apart suck. ๐
Any phone contact?
Mine were only bad when he had to go to Ft. McCoy. Since he was a cook, he left a day or two earlier, so it was four days without seeing him, not the normal two. Those times really sucked. The normal drill weekends he was home by 5 or 5:30.
@ellabee: Yeah. and I got to see him. He just wanted guy time
I am not sure what those are either.. ๐ My Fiance and I are LDR right now.. so I know distance really sucks..all the time
Drill is consist of one weekend per month and one annual two-week training session.

@Mrs.Vowrenewal: Amen to that! As soon as one drill is done, I’m dreading the next ๐ Even worse is AT…two…long…weeks…lol
I laugh at myself now because we were the ones that went 2 1/2 years and only saw eachother 8 times (10 of those months we were married). And now? I whimper only drill weekends…not months apart, but weekends. lol Oh well. I think for me, him being gone to drill/AT brings on the anxiety and makes me remember what it was like when we were LDR.
@JsDragonfly: We don’t have AT this year. everyone else is deployed so they are doing Alternate AT
@Mrs.Vowrenewal: That sucks that everyone else is deployed ๐ DH’s AT is coming up and I’m not too excited about it. lol
The last time Darling Husband got back from drill he said me down on the couch and was all serious (I thought he was mad at me for something) and said, “Truthfully. Tell me….how much ice cream did you have this weekend?” LOL The boy must know I drown my sorrows in ice cream while he’s training. lol
I think I’m the exception, I love Drill weekend! It’s like a mini-break for me to be selfish and do anything or nothing that I want and not feel bad that we’re not doing something.
@JsDragonfly: I hung out with friends. lol
@Nati-Lyte:I’m a half and half
@Nati-Lyte: Lol, I agree, the weekends aren’t so bad.
My SO’s two weeks are coming up again in June and the house will be so lonely and quiet without him. I’m sure I will be spending lots of time on the bee to keep myself entertained. The best part is when he comes home, and how excited we both get to see each other after missing each other for two weeks!
While I was in college drill weekends were great for us. He was 2 hours closer to me so I would sneak away and go on a mini vacation one weekend a month. I guess its a positive way to see them. But of course his drill weekends always fell on an important date so missed birthdays or hallmark holidays.
