We’re having an afternoon wedding, and the reception is only going to be two hours long. We’re not having any dancing, it’s pretty much just going to a “relax and mingle” atmosphere. We are having a dessert reception, but I’m stuck on drinks.
I know that we are going to have a blue lemonade (our colors are shades of blue and orange), bottles of water, and then some iced tea, but I’m confused on how much we’ll need?
We are having around 80 guests, and it is a beach wedding, but the Oregon coast averages around 70 degrees during August, so it won’t be hot.

is your tea going to be in bottles? same with lemonade?

Since drinks are relatively cheap, I would probably have enough for everyone to have 1.5 bottles of water and both a tea and a lemonade.
So 120 bottles of water, 80 servings of tea, and 80 servings of lemonade. You’ll probably have leftovers, but that seems to be safe.

@PacificMrs: I read once that a way to estimate drink consumption is by hour of the event, assuming people will drink 2 drinks in the first hour and then 1 drink every subsequent hour. So a 2 hour event would be 3 drinks/person. That may pertain more to alcoholic drinks though.

Buy cases of water have plenty of extra and the cases that aren’t open you can always return.

I would also buy enough even if that means leftover. Bottled water can always be saved. I think 120 bottles would be safe. Not everyone will drink water but some may want more than 1 bottle. I read somewhere that 5 gallons of iced tea serves 80 people IF you use 16 oz containers (same for lemonade). MOST people that drink these are going to drink more than 1 glass in a 2 hour period if they are eating. If it were me, I would probably plan on doing 10 gallons of tea and 10 of lemonade and 120 bottles of water. We are having lemonade and sweet tea at our rehearsel dinner (our wedding as well, but we don’t have to worry about bringing that in, the venue does that) and for 50 people at the rehearsel we have ordered 12 gallons of lemonade and 12 of tea (so we are defintely are over-stocked) plus unlimited water (not bottled).

The tea and lemonade are going to be in those glass drink dispenses. Thank you so much, ladies!

I would say plan 1 of each drink for each person.
