Hi there, wondering what you Bees who had a small wedding served for alcohol? I am planning on 60 guests max if everyone who is sent an invite attends…and who are we kidding, does that ever happen? lol
I am thinking a white and red wine, beer and possibly a bottle of Prosecco on each table for toasts? Also thinking a hard punch? This will be a very casual, laid back wedding and I am trying hard to keep this as inexpensive as possible!
Ideas anyone or experiences?

We’re having a super small wedding (maybe ten guests) and our only alcohol is the wine for our toast. It’s going to be low key affair and the venue has a bar in it if anyone really needs to drink more.

A white, a red, beer, and hard punch sounds great! What kind of beer though?

We had 70 guests. We had 2 beers, a cider, red/white wine, champagne and a toast. However, our wedding was also pretty formal at a mansion. For a laid back wedding, I think having beer & wine along with a champagne toast is fine.

We did a very small wedding, so we had beer, wine, and booze.. but we only had like 20 people… however most of the weddings that I have been too recently are just beer and wine, so for cost reasons you could prob just do the red and white wine, and the beer then a bottle of champagne on each table for the toast … and not sure if you have a Trader Joes store where you you live, but they have what we call ” 2 buck chuck” it’s a wine by Charles Shaw.. decent.. and it’s $2.99 a bottle or the organic one is $3.99 a bottle so that makes it $35.88-$47.88 a case.. and this is what a lot of people are using for their weddings these days and for the beer I would do a Keg! especially since you said it was laid back! I love laid back weddings!

How much do your family/friends like to drink/how big is the table?
Two bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne for a table of 8 seems like not very much…
My girlfriend just married an Irish dude. They had 108 guests. 200 bottles of wine and 3 kegs. She said they had 4 bottles of wine left at the end of the wedding.
No objections to minimal selection, but I would make sure there is enough alcohol for a fun party (if that is what you want/ rather than a luncheon).

jaydeeplatinum : omg “the two buck chuck” is that literally the name on the bottle?
I don’t know what Chuck means in the US but here in Aus it means to vomit so I can’t think of a more perfect name for a dirt cheap bottle of vino

We had 45 guests and just paid for everyone’s tab at the end of the night. It was at a brewery so people could order whatever they wanted from the bar, wine and mixed drinks included.

sbl99 : haha! No, the name is Charles Shaw, here in the US Chuck is short for Charles! So it’s just a nick name .. It’s pretty decent for cheap wine, way better than Franzia and she said she was sticking to a budget! One of the last weddings I went to they served it!

Moissamight possibly Corona.. That is what FH prefers
jaydeeplatinum thanks for the input! I will think about a keg too! Also going to see what kind of discounts I can get for purchasing cases
Minnewanka – the prosecco will be for the tables. The beer, red and white wine will be stocked at the bar
Thank you everyone for the input, I think I will definitely go with my plan. 🙂
