I tend to get a little overly emotional when I have too much to drink, so I won’t be drinking that much.

I had a couple glasses of champagne before our  ceremony while getting ready. At our reception I had 2 liquor drinks but I only fully drank one of them.

Honestly its realllly hard to drink at your own wedding. You are constantly talking to people, walking around, dancing, etc so your drink becomes less of a priority. I also felt naturally high!

It’s just going to be the two of us, and we are biking from winery to winery after a morning ceremony. If we pedal fast enough, we won’t wobble!

When I go to a wedding, I usually nurse one or two drinks the whole time. I doubt my wedding woud be any different.

I had a glass of champagne while getting ready, and a total of one more glass throughout the whole wedding.  It just seemed like whenever someone would hand me a glass, someone else would need a hug, and I would set it down…

I wanted to get just a little ever so slight buzz, but in reality I had less then 2 drinks over the whole 5 hour period.

You just get caught up so much in talking, dancing, moving around. That I forgot to drink, lol ๐Ÿ™‚

@double0bride: oh. That sounds awesome. I’m getting married in Napa in the morning and would love to do something like this. Not in the plans however!

Other. We may have a champagne toast with champagne for those who drink and white grape juice for those who don’t. That would be the extent of alcohol at the wedding though.

Ideally I want to hit the place my friends and I affectionately call, “the zone” Its like… when you’re buzzing really good and everything makes you happy and you can still have a really good conversation and not look like a drunk fool ^^ That’s where I’d like to stay haha.

I’ll definitely drink before the ceremony with ladies (mimosas) because I’ll be so so so so so nervous haha. Throughout the night I will attempt to drink water in between drinks to pace myself, but I really don’t want to have to go the bathroom constantly haha… Plus if I drink too much I’ll get all sleepy and that’s no good!

Though my huge Bridal Party definitely plans on an afterparty at a bar so… I’ll have to be really careful!

Future Mrs. Martin: I thought you meant high like… on pot hahahaha and I was like, “Really? Haha interesting.” I’m not anti pot, its just not my cup o tea, and I thought it was really strange that you said that, then I was like, “Ohh… like ‘on life.'”!

I had a mimosa before the wedding, a cocktail during cocktail hour and champagne for the toasts. Moderation all the way. I wanted to be sober and remember EVERY moment…my husband did as well…and I’m glad we did ๐Ÿ™‚

I love to get wasted and go crazy with my friends but I won’t out of respect for my immediate family.  My parents really look down on drinking to excess and my older brother is a recovering alcoholic whose drinking problem nearly killed him.  I just feel like it would be offensive to get shitfaced when my parents are footing the entire bill!  I’m sure I’ll get tipsy but I won’t get to the point of losing control.

I’m taking almost half of our guests rock climbing the next morning.  It would be super great for us all if I am crystal clear-headed whilst assuming responsibility for our collective safety.  It will be hard to make sure that I don’t loose track of what is going on with the seemingly self-refilling glass though.

I work at a place that hosts weddings and I have seen some horribly drunk brides and grooms.  Really pitiful.  Like laying on the pavement outside in your wedding gown drunk :O

Also, remember to tell your Wedding Party to take it easy, too.  They are usually the sloppiest, most obnoxious bunch of the whole wedding..
