I was in the drink until it’s pink camp and it only took us 3 months with my first. When trying for the second, after almost a year of trying, I decided to cut it back to 1-2 drinks per week and pretty much got pregnant immediately after that. Based on that, I feel like it could have been the factor…..
That being said, I would drink until it’s pink if you’re casually trying, but if you are getting annoyed or trying to get preg pronto, perhaps cutting WAY back is a good plan. Depends on your timeline.

you don’t share a blood supply with the baby until 8 weeks when the placenta is fully formed.
i wouldn’t get blitzed every night. but there is no reason why you can’t have a few drinks.
i am bfing. i drink beer and wine, sometimes while breastfeeding or pumping,

I am not much of a drinker right now, to be honest, but we’re planning to start trying in the new year, and I plan to mostly quit drinking, except for when I get Aunt Flo (maybe even saving a special bottle for that time so there’s an upside to not getting pregnant that month).

I don’t drink much as it is maybe once or twice a month so it won’t affect me much when TTC. But if I did drink I would drink except around my fertile window but I doubt there will be any major issue as long as you stop when you get your BFP.

It took us over three years to conceive. I continued to drink occasionally and eat all of the pregnancy No-Nos. None of this contributed to us not getting pregnant. Once I was pregnant I suspected it very early and cut all alcohol and other concerning foods/drinks out of my diet.

My doctor told me not to at all 🙁
My friends who have kids generally drank (not like binge drinking but a drink or two here and there) until they had a positive pregnancy test.
I’m currently on my period sitting in a hot tub with a glass of wine not sure what I’ll do for our next cycle.

We’re going to officially start TTC in January on our honeymoon… on a cruise, with the unlimited drink package. I’m not usually a huge drinker, but I plan to drink til it’s pink. As others have said, no need to live like you’re pregnant until you are.

I drank until I had a positive test. I didn’t eat/drink/take ANYTHING questionable while pregnant – no alcohol, no OTC meds, no caffeine, etc. – so I gave myself some leeway while we were TTC.

We’ve just started TTC. I normally only drink occassionally and I am not planning to drink at all while TTC. It’s true that the risk of harming the zygote is low, but aparently drinking during that early stage can decrease the chance of implantation/sucessful pregnancy:
I am not sure if I can manage to give up coffee even after *fingers crossed* a BFP though.

I didnt drink at all while TTC but Im a binge drinker and only really drink when it’s a big night out and I’ll drink quite a lot. So when I started TTC I gave that up as I figured getting drunk like that couldn’t do any good. I was looking for a reason to have a break from drinking anyway.
However if you’re the kind of person who has a glass of wine here and there, or a couple of drinks sometimes I would carry on as you are until you get your BFP.

The less you change your life while ttc the better. Live your life.

I’ve been TTC for over a year and I think I’ve had about 5 drinks in the past year?
You can still have fertility trouble regardless if you’re doing ‘everything right’, so drink til it’s pink!!

I personally wouldn’t ‘drink ’til it’s pink’, but different strokes for different folks.

Believe me, after a few months you get sick of living the pregnant life with no pregnancy. Besides – how many babies are conceived during a drunken night out …mixybee :

TTC is majorly stressful for me, so having some wine helps me relax and enjoy the process more. Did it last time we conceived, will continue this time as well!
