tiffy127 :  maybe she’s just introverted. Hopefully lunch will provide a greater opportunity. The  worse part is over with now because you’ve seen her.

Maybe she finds 7 30 late for eating dinner either for health reasons or just habit? And as a pp suggested she could well be introverted if she also wanted to do her shopped herself. Or maybe she wanted to buy something (again maybe health related) that she didn’t want you guys to see. Hope you get some more time with her over lunch!

tiffy127 :  Hoping it went well! My husband is significantly older than me, so his parents are closer in age to my grandma (70s). We still got along just fine when we first met and I have a great bond with his mother. I’m sure there are plenty of things you can connect over despite the generational gap. We talk about everything!

tiffy127 :  Oh no! Poor her for throwing up! Maybe she ahdn’t been feeling well and that had affected her the day before too. But glad you were able to see her again after and that that visit went better ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m glad your visit went well overall. That’s unfortunate to hear about her getting sick and I hope she recovered alright from it. The first day, I wouldn’t be surprised if she just needed to eat by a certain time, couldn’t wait to eat (whether for medications or to avoid feeling ill or etc), or maybe was feeling ill and didn’t want to tell you both. With the shopping, she could have simply needed to get some personal items and not wanted to do it with you both around. I hope the lunch doesn’t make her feel wary of eating out again. That’s really nice that you both got some pictures. It sounds like she tried to reach out in her own way.

Your visit was definitely eventful.  Considering the distance it’s good you managed to see her quite a bit on this trip! Eek. A new progression in your relationship.
