This thread is so crazy to me– like it’s backwards day or something! i didn’t know anyone actually thought ballgowns were out of style? The fact that people are even insecure about that is nuts! Ballgowns are THE wedding dress to end ALL wedding dresses!

That’s like saying a solitaire diamond is out of style, and you wish you had a halo!

@Miss Leopard:  +1 ballgowns will never be out of style when it comes to wedding dresses. That is part of why I chose mine I wanted a dress I can look back on in 20 years and think ‘I was beautiful’ not ‘I look so dated’.

@misslineman:  I love ball gowns!!! I want one when it comes time for dress shopping for me. I think you made a great decision to get a ballgown and you look so happy in your dress 🙂

Keep it! Who cares if it’s “in style”? When you look at your pictures 20 years from now I doubt any dress would be in style anymore. As long as you can look back and love it!

I’m not dissing mermaid-style dresses but for sure, they are likely to go out of style far more quickly than the traditional, classically styled ball gown. Which hasn’t and won’t! But then you are getting married in the now. Whatever you wear will still look great in the future when you look back at your wedding pictures because your memories are about more than just the dress anyway. So don’t compromise. Wear what you really want to wear!
