So I never wear make-up (as in the last time I did was for prom). I know from reading posts on the boards that a good amount of drug store brands have mica in them that isn’t good for photographing but I’m not sure which ones don’t. I’m planning to do Mrs. Rainbows special cocktail so I’m looking for a full coverage foundation. I would love to just buy whats recommended in the tutorial but the closest mall is over 2 hours away and I can’t order online since I have no clue what color to get. The stores near me are Walmart, Rite Aid, Walgreens, kohls, & kmart. Any suggestions on what brand to get?

I like Almay’s mineral cooling foundation over the all day liquid foundation. It looks sheer, but covers well and lasts the day.

Thanks for the advice. I’m actually trying to stay away from mineral foundation, as I was told it reflects too much light in photography. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Revlon Colorstay is really good. It has low spf so should be good for flash photography. There is a version for oily and another one for dry skin, too.

The most important thing with photography is to avoid looking oily. Besides, these days photographers use Photoshop to make everything look right. Get the makeup that suits your taste, and don’t fret over the photographer!

@BeautifulKatastrofie: What is Mrs. Rainbows special cocktail?

If it’s listed as a matte foundation, you’ll be fine.

I would make sure to have some loose powder that you can dust on your face when you get oily (I don’t have a specific brand in mind). You don’t want to use the oil blotter sheets because they will take the makeup off your face.

I use Revlon Photoready every day and love it!
