I dont really see the difference between name brand and drugstore mascara. Its really all about how you apply the mascara to get the right look. Yes, there are some that clump more than others, but for the most part I’ve never had a problem. I use two different kinds of mascara – Maybelline Lash Stiletto which I LOVE and Physicians Formula PlentiFull which is okay (better for a day at work rather than a night going out) For eyeliner I usually just use Cover Girl which I think works just fine!

For mascara I use L’Oreal Voluminous mascara either the original or carbon black and I usually use Rimmel eyeliners.

I second PitBullLover – Maybelline Lash Stiletto is great. It was funny to find out most of the ladies in our wedding used that one.

I like Revlon Growlash and it REALLY does make your lashes grow! I also like the Revlon mascara that comes in the black and gold tube- I think it might be called Fabulash. For eyeliner I cannot help, because I do use Urban Decay for that.

I was looking for something from the drugstore that was paraben-free and ended up getting Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Mascara, expecting it to not be great and I like it WAY more than the Covergirl Lash Blast I had been using.  The application is pretty similar and the brush is similar, but the wear throughout the day is MUCH better.  The Lash Blast would flake off and end up all around my eyes by the end of the day.  This Physician’s Formula stays put through the day but it comes off completely when I wash my face.  I do think it clumps less than the Lash Blast too.  Recently the brush was getting clumpy but I just cleaned it off and now it’s as good as new.

One of my ex’s friends was a male model and so of course we hung around a lot of models because of him, and I remember this one model girl telling me one time (we were discussing makeup) that a lot of makeup artists she worked with and all of her model friends ALWAYS use maybeline and that it’s the best in the world. She had been in runway shows all over Europe, etc.. and said she always used Maybeline.  It really stuck with me and I’ve never splurged on expensive mascara again.  I buy the maybeline “great lash” pink colored (the container) stuff in “blackest black” it’s only $5!  I buy 2 at a time.

I have used Maybeline Full and Soft since the 8th grade, around 11 years!! I swear by it and every time I try out the “latest and greatest” mascara, I get so disappointed and always go back to Full and Soft. It curls, never clumps, lasts all day and I can even put on more coats if I was going out at night for a more dramatic effect….I really can’t say enough about it.

I love Maybeline too!  I have their Falsies mascara right now and I like how to makes my tiny little lashes look way, way fuller.

I also just bought NYC’s waterproof liner, and out of all the drugstore liners I’ve tried (and I’ve probably tried em all!), it wears the best and does not smudge once it’s on and “set”.

I really, really, reaaaaaaally want to try Urban Decay, though.  Really, really bad.

I use Maybelline Great Lash Big Mascara.  I love it way better than any I’ve ever tried.  And for eyeliner, I use NYC classic pencil eyeliner.  (It’s 99 cents!)

I’m with@mandb122:, I use the exact same things- L’Oreal Voluminous mascara, and Rimmel eyeliners. The mascara is very comparable to Estee Lauder’s More Than Mascara, imo.

I know sooo many ppl swear by Maybelline’s mascara in the pink tube with the green (or sometimes black) top, but I’ve never cared for it. It doesn’t clump, I’ll give it that, but it never makes my lashes look the least bit thicker or longer. But that’s just me.

i have really long lashes that get angry at me when i use mascara so i rarely do and don’t know the names anyway! I do use Maybelline Ultra-Liner (liquid) eyeliner everyday though. it’s perfect for my needs – it doesn’t smudge or rub off on my eyelid, it stays all day and comes off easily when I take off my makeup at the end of the day. the cat eye/flip is my signature and I find it quick and easy to do in my pre-coffee stupor in the mornings! it’s like $7 maybe and lasts for months, even with my daily use. :]

I love Almay liquid eyeliner. It’s the best I’ve ever used. For mascara, CoverGirl LashBlast, Maybelline Define-a-Lash & Volum’Express are favorites. I actually quite like Victoria’s Secret mascara, too. It was definitely worth the $5 I paid for it.
