No, but why? Were you told those things? Did that happen to you?

Following this thread as I’m curious too.  As of right now, my plan is to try to sale my dress after the wedding.  If I can’t dry clean it afterwards, that would be a huge issue.  I too paid about $2000 for my dress!  This isn’t like a David’s Bridal design.

Ive seen plenty of Sottero dresses on the preowned sale sites and most are dry cleaned and seem to be i n perfect condition. Could it be that the  guy had experience with replicas?

pattoo :  That’s a little strange what you paid. My maggie was around $900 and the shop I got it from doesn’t sell anything over $1,500 and they carry Maggies. :-/ I would be curious about what dress it is and what others paid. My dress doesn’t have any beading though.

herrera2016 :

I am very curious which is your shop and which dress it is? So far all Maggie dresses I have looked at have been i  the 1200-2400 range… Maybe you got yourself a bargain?

herrera2016 :  I would definitely say that it’s due to your dress not having any beading.  Here’s mine:

Lots of lace detail and some beading.  Almost $1700 before taxes.

cherrymyst :  they may just only carry ones that are less. Mine is Maggie Lacey. I am not sure exactly what we paid (my mom bought it) I know it was less than $900

My Maggi was $1800. They carry it at Kleinfelds, I looked it up. I was looking at Other designers and my bridal shop said that the Maggis were much better quality. She referred to them as higher end Toyota’s of wedding dresses.

shxbm :  That’s what I heard. Mine’s a Sottero and Midgley (their couture collection), and it was $1850 (no beading).

I think this dry cleaner probably has zero idea what they’re doing and/or they dealt with a cheap replica before. Maggies are good!
