For dry skin I add a bit of glycerin to my body lotion. Glycerin is a humectant and attracts moisture so if you add a bit of it to your body lotion you skin will stay moisturized!

@sheilad72: I use organic jojoba oil and its great. You can use a small drop with your shampoo and I also add a drop to my lotion every day. Its wonderful!

I have a dry scalp caused by my psoriasis, and I use Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo. It’s worked better than anything so far.

My scalp, hair, skin & face do the same thing this time of year.

Luckily, my hair dresser noticed the dryness and gave me a nice deep conditioning treatment, which fixed the problem for my scalp/hair.

For my face, I’ve been rubbing vasline into my skin every night. I know, it sounds strange and terrible! I’ve found it’s actually not very greasy (a little goes a long way), and it has nixed every dry/flaky patch and helped heal up scars/belmishes/etc. My skin looks amazingly even when I wake up in the morning. Keeps my eye area looking fresh, too. I just love it!

For skin, I’ve been mixing a dash of oil in with lotion (and being diligent about daily lotioning, especially after showering).

neutrogenaI have problems with my hairline really drying up this time of the year, which in turn appears like dandruff!  I use a product called T Gel, it is from Neutrogena.  It is a bit on the expensive side, but you don’t have to use it every time and one bottle can last me all winter long!

For my face, I put on sleeping mask every night before sleep.  It hydrates and relaxes skin through the night. My face feels supple and smooth in the morning after cleansing.

Extra Virgin Coconut oil and Clinical Therapy Vaseline for dry to extra dry skin lotion worked for me.

Oh, I don’t have colored hair, so I didn’t have a problem with it.  But if you do and have in the past, I would skip it with your wedding so close!  Good luck

I have the same problem. I find that using Eucerin lotion is the best. Its a bit thick/greasy, but definitely helps my skin stay moisturized. For the hair, you can actually but hot oil treatment at the drugstore and that will help for dry scalp/hair. They come in little single use tubes.

Also suggest running a humidifier when you’re sleeping. I am prone to nosebleeds this time of year from the dry air, and when I use a humidifier it helps a lot. It is also good for hair/skin.

I also have dry, flaky scalp and face. I’ve been using Head and Shoulders shampoo for Dry Scalp and it’s been working good. It has jojoba oil. Regading face, even though it’s dry you might need to exfoliate first in order for products to absorb better and actually get through to moisturize. Dermalogica makes a gentle exfoliant with rice enzymes, Microfoliant, I love it. I have sensitive, ance prone, but dry skin and this does not aggrevate it. Few times a week I wash my face with oils and it makes a big difference, I use a combo of 1/4 grape seed, 3/4 apricot kernel oil, and a couple Vitamin E capsules. Make sure you don’t use harsh cleaners for your skin. In the winter I like Paula’s Choice Moisture Boost cleanser and hydrating treatment cream to moisturize.
