DH and I have been having trouble with our dryer for the past 6 months. We’ve had at least 4 different people come out and look at it. I will put a load in, it dries fine, and then when I put the next load in, I will run the dryer for the same amount of time as the first load, but when it’s done and I go down to get it, the clothes are soaking wet.
We had the lint filters and tubes cleaned, the service people swear the part that makes it heat is fine, and we’ve had the vent leading outside our house cleaned. I just cleaned all the vents out again today, and the clothes are still soaking wet. The dryer works, but it won’t heat. I clean the lint filter out after every load. The dryer is over 5 years old.
I’m starting to go crazy over this. Is it time for a new dryer? When can you tell? We are so sick of calling repair people out to the house. I am afraid we will get a new dryer and still have the same issue, which is why I am hesitant to go out and get a new one. Our dryer is in the basement and the tube leading to vent to the outside goes up the wall, if that makes a difference. We can’t tell if it’s the way it’s hooked up or if the dryer itself is just….dead.
