I am glad to be a part of Weddingbee, and I hope to get some awesome ideas everyone! My fiance and I are leaving for an overseas deployment this August. We have a two year old beautiful, baby girl whom will be missed dearly. We have been wanting to get married, but have just put it off for so ling due to life. We decided why not now, and we have set a date for May 18, 2013 at Camp Beauregard in Louisiana. We decided on a simple, but elegant wedding at the chapel on post. I have a lace cap sleeved dress, and he will be wearing his Dress Blues. Any suggestions on flowers or decor? Any would help, and thanks! Also, HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!

I have no advice, but I want to thank you guys for your service and congratulate you on your impending wedding.
Hopefully you both come back quickly and safely to your little squeaker girl soon. My husband is Navy and I know what it’s like to watch someone you love leave — She’ll miss you just as much as you miss her!

My husband and I are both military as well, and we took advantage of a surprise 2 month break in his deployment schedule to get married this past December. For flowers I contacted a wholesale floral in the city and asked for suggestions to create three bouquets under $100. She ended suggesting hydrangea, local white roses, and listhanmus. I ended up only needing two bouquets and what she had ordered was pleeeenty anyway so I used the extra roses for the bouts for our dads and brothers. For decor I took some of the typical trends from here and pinterest like Mr. and Mrs. forks, instead of a cake the we had cupcakes and I made bunting with his last name to put in it, lots of different votives in different colors. I wanted to use the bouquets as centerpieces, but the vases we bought ended up not being strong enough for their weight. Thankfully the B&B we were staying at had lots of old vintage pitchers and it all came together rather nicely.
