My son was a week late. It was exhausting. I went into labor pretty much exactly at 41+1. Hang in there? Useless words, I know, but it’s honestly just a blip in the scheme of things and when you have a 15 month old toddler biting the back of your thigh as you type on the computer and have to try to remember just how late they showed up, it’ll all be ok. Best of luck.

No advice but I had an induction and it was great! They gave me all the good drugs and I was only in labor like 12 hours (which felt like two hours on account of the drugs).

I can commiserate! I’m a first time mom having twins and I’m just at the end of my rope. Last week I was admitted to L&D after a standard appt because they saw my contractions were so frequent (4mins apart) and I was 1.5cm dilated and 70% effaced. They told me I’d have a c-section that night so my parents drove down (4 hours), my husband frantically went home to grab our bags, etc. Well then the doctors changed shifts and they decided they wanted to keep them cooking in there a little more, so I stayed overnight and was released on Friday.

I went in this morning to an appt POSITIVE that I’d be further along because contractions are still frequent, I lost my plug, and I’ve totally dropped…and nothing. Still 1.5. Sent me home. Now they want me to wait until my original scheduled c-section a week from today. I’m in so much pain (carrying an estimated 13 lbs of babies in there) and just am so ready to have them here!

Hang in there and best wishes for a speedy delivery!

The grass is always greener….! LO came 10 days early and I would’ve paid good money to keep him in there another couple of weeks. My advice would just be to try to enjoy these last few days of a quiet, childfree home 🙂 she’ll be here in the blink of an eye.

Will they give you another s&s? It was the second one I had at 40+2 that worked for me. I remember feeling the same urgency as you on my due date… I’m currently feeding my 16 day old baby boy and it feels like time has flown since then!

Mine came in a timely fashion and I credit that to all the sex I had during pregnancy. Maybe try that? Or at least, you know… make yourself <ahem> happy? embarassed

Also, walking around a lot like in a big mall.

I was born over two weeks late (due April 1 – born April 16)! Just remember that average length of pregnancy for a first time mom is 41 weeks + 1 day so I wouldn’t freak out that baby isn’t here yet. She will come when she’s ready! Maybe focus on fun activities that will be hard to do with a newborn? Make a trip to target or get your nails done with a friend! The less you stress the sooner it’ll happen and the faster the time will go by!

Try and go for a Long walk…enjoy the last days of quiet and try and do something nice for yourself. My friend went and saw a movie on her own, I thought that was a great idea. I had a pedicure…Also I would suggest eating small meals,I went into labor  after an enormous 3 course meal at a restaurant and it was awful throwing everything up 🙁 she can’t stay in there forever …don’t worry, it will happen!!!

I was induced at 41 weeks.  I tried all of that nonsense (spicy foods, long walks- 3 miles!, sex, etc) and it didn’t do a damn thing.  You can’t induce labor like that.  Maybe if you were about to go already it might put you over the edge but that’s about it.  Those women were going to go into labor regardless.  Being induced wasn’t that bad.  I will say that it hurt a lot worse, a lot earlier than natural labor.  Probably because my doctor broke my water when they started the pitocin.  I didn’t do anything special with #2 but he came on his own at 40+5.  I got epidurals with both but I had my epidural much later with #2.  I actually went an hour out of town for thanksgiving (the day after my due date) since I knew he wouldn’t be coming lol.  He came the night after we got back.

Taking castor oil threw me into labor with my youngest….but I definitely do not recommend it unless you’re willing to spend a lot of your labor on the toilet. 🤣

#1 was induced at 36+6 because he was in distress.

#2 was induced at 40+6 because she didn’t want to come out.
