So even though we’re from the cities, my Fiance and I would like to get married somewhere on the North Shore since it’s been a special place for us.
I’ve done some looking but I can’t find anyone on WB making reference to getting married in the Duluth/Two Harbors area…do any MN bees have friends who did? I’m having a heck of a time finding something that will hold 250 people (and is ideally not a hotel conference room/ ballroom). So far we’ve looked at:
- Greysolon ballroom: beautiful but waaaay more formal than we’re looking for. White glove service is a bit much.
- The aquarium (my FI’s idea): awesome, but CRAZY expensive (like, 2x more expensive than anywhere else for just the venue rental–chairs, food, etc all separate)
- Superior Shores: Kind of expensive (hidden fees EVERYWHERE)
We crossed off most of the other resorts in the area because they can’t accomodate 250 and I feel like we’re going to run out of options. We are looking at the Depot and Sacred Heart Music Center but I don’t really have any info on either one yet so I’m not sure if they are good options or not. “Worst” case scenario we can get married in the cities, but we’d really like to make Duluth work if we can.

There are lots of suggestions! My Fiance and I are from Duluth originally and are hoping to get married there next year too. Its been tough trying to find venues that are larger and can accomodate 200+ people, but we came up with a list.
Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC)
Radisson Hotel Duluth
Barkers Island Inn
Black Bear Casino and Resort
Black Woods Conference Center
Clearwater Event Center
Holiday Inn Duluth
Northland Country Club
Clyde Iron Works
Spirit Mountain Resort
I actually made a big excel spreadsheet of all these venues of the information like rental prices, capacity, and included amenities. I can email it to you if you would like. 🙂

My Maid/Matron of Honor was looking at venues in that area. Here are some in the Duluth Northeast MN area:
Duluth Park Point Beach House
Big Sandy Lodge
Grand Suprior Lodge
My favorite: Juliane James Place
