We have three registries – Kohl’s, Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy’s. Now the general idea was Bed Bath and Beyond is where we were registering for most everything, Kohl’s is where we were registering for our dinnerware (Fiesta!) and Macy’s was where we would register for everything not covered by the first two.
My sister texted me the other day and said a few people have called and said there’s nothing to buy on Kohl’s. According to the registry there we have received everything (12 fiesta place settings – including 5 that were allegedly bought twice, gravy boat, spoon rest, flatware tray, knife block set and K-cups, which were also duplicated). She says I should think about adding more stuff there. Now there are a few things we could still register for there (clocks, picture frames, shower curtain hooks, etc). I’m wondering if I shouldn’t register for things they have that Bed Bath and Beyond also has. We have our Keurig registered for at Bed Bath and Beyond, but Kohl’s also carries it, for example. I’m hesitant to remove it from Bed Bath and Beyond because we get an incentive and we haven’t applied to get it yet. I don’t know whether to put some things on both and just remove them as they become purchased, leave it where it is or move it to Kohls.
We already got our sheets from Bed Bath and Beyond. I was thinking of registering for some cheaper towels at Kohl’s (we’ve registered at Bed Bath and Beyond for expensive ones). They also have a glassware set I thought was decent, although we’ve already registered for the Libbey Impressions colored set from Macy’s.
I wish I had done a universal registry. So much easier – just a list of what I want and I don’t care where you get it from.

Why can’t people buy stuff not at Kohl’s? Maybe they don’t know there’s more than one registry?

You know, we’re having this too – one registry is pretty severely depleted, the other one has barely been touched. IDK that I’d mess with it. If the registries are listed together on your website or whatever, people should be able to sort it out.

I had duplicates on both my registries (like my iron and other small appliances). I just deleted them off the second registry once they were bought on the first. It wasn’t a big problem and I registry stalked every week anyways.
I had to do it this way because there wasn’t one national location that served all my guests. For instance, DH’s family doesn’t have Macys and my family doesn’t have Bed bath and beyond. err!

I had our items split between BB&B & Target. But it seems like people are only purchasing from the BB&B registry (which surprises me, I prefer Target lol). I took some items off our Target registry & added them to our BB&B registry, so that people would have more selection there since it seems like the place guests prefer to shop.

@Beckster329: I know, right? That’s what I felt like saying. My sister send out the invitations so I assume all the registry info was on there. Most of my stuff from Kohl’s was bought before invitations even went out actually – a few people heard through word of mouth and bought most of it.
If it were me I’d prefer to go to Bed Bath and Beyond because with the 20% off coupon it’s much cheaper.

Isn’t it weird? I was looking at our registries the other day, and 36 items were gone from the BBB registry. Macy’s and Target had a combined 12 items gone. I’ve been debating registering for items on both. However, I have two showers in one weekend, so I have a feeling I would get a lot of double gifts.
That being said, I would definitely register for some home decorating items from Kohl’s. If there are a few things you can add on, I would go for it. If things are more spread out for you, then I would add a few things to both.
