I have a halo and have never seen one in person, only on the interwebs!

Maybe the trend will reverse back to single solitaire rings with a simple band. I always loved the simplicity and elegance of those. Smile

I think it will trend back to more simple and understated styles. Halos are beautiful, but I think that people might start to shy away from trying to get the most sparkle for their money the way halos are designed to accomplish.

I think at somepoint the trend has to start where people want regular yellow gold to be “different” and then it’ll be the big “new” thing again. I can’t image white metals will dominate forever.

(I have white gold)

@koi424:  My first wedding set was yellow gold. And I LOVED it. But because that marriage had such a terrible break-up, I wanted something completely opposite this time and got white gold. Wink But I do love the yellow!

I am going to add to the votes for different colors of gold (other than white and platinum) and I have seen many split shank settings and twist effect settings(like the Tacori 2565) among recently engaged friends.

Yeah, it is weird because I always look at people’s rings (my favorite jewelry) and in all my years of looking since 2004 I have NEVER seen a halo in real life!  What I see the most of around here are princess cut, for some reason.

I just discoverd halo recently when Fiance and I started looking for ring styles.  I decided it’s what I want – I had always been drawn to antique style, or art deco (any one look at faycullen.com ?  like that!)  and when I saw the halo styles I settled on it.

But a part of me is hoping that in the next few years they will not be as ubiquitous as the princess cuts seem to be (I do like princess cuts) – but I am hoping that not every other ring finger I come across in the next few years does not end up with a halo style on it.  I wonder if that will happen?

I think some type of gold, other than white, and gemstones of any sort will become more the thing…  I really love me some rose gold / morganite!

I smell rose gold as the next BIG trend.

I’m with those who say rose gold is the next up and coming thing. It’s actually kind of funny…my mom passed down my grandmother’s engagement ring to me, and while the majority of the band is yellow gold, the stones are set in platinum all those years ago! I love the two toned look, but I think rose gold is going to be it!

I dont know for other people, but I have to say I LOVE rose gold. But only paired with morganite. And I love solitaires… But only with colored stones. Haha.

I vote for Rose Gold as the next trend, too.

I vote for colored stones and rose gold.  Both of which I love, love, love!

I think rose gold and colored gemstones will be in. Possibly solitaires will make a come back.
