I’m having a Destination Wedding in my hometown in the Caribbean. Almost all of my family is there, they still have to drive for 1.5 hours to get to the wedding venue so I’m worried about that. Aaaand, my FI’s family will be flying to attend our wedding. I am so worried about recieving lots of NOs. I’m only inviting 110, so the thought of just having 60 people is so scary. Specially since my venue has a maximum amount I have spend. AGH! I’m freaking out!

@loveknows: Yes! Our wedding will be in Mexico. We have to have a total of 25 rooms booked for us to get our stay free and get the extremely discounted prices that we fought so hard for. We invited 97 but were hoping for, at the very least, 5o yesses. We wanted a small wedding so this is ideal. We are estimating that we will only have around 15-20 rooms which is not enough! So, we have a B list ready, so we can rush out save-the-dates and invites to people we know can afford to go on shorter notice. That sounds shallow, I know, but we do love our friends that are well-off! LOL. Besides, they would’ve been invited to our back-home reception.

i was worried about people saying no. actually maybe i wasnt worried, because i expected no one to come except my close friends who were all my BMs! and my family and DHs family. but then suddenly all kinds of people started telling me they were coming and while excited, i also got stressed that i was going to have too many people and more than i could afford for the type of reception i wanted! then all those extras, except for one person, ended up not being able to come – which created disappointment that would not have been there had they never told me they were coming in the first place! so basically i don’t think its predictable and i would not count anyone as being present until they BOOK!
