My cousin got married in Phuket and she had white calla lilies and royal blue and purple moth orchids. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of just her bouquet, but here’s her ceremony:

And a closeup of the altar flowers, which included various types of orchids, etc.

I think incorporating lotus flowers would look beautiful!  If your venue has a pool you can float them in the water too.  And frangipani (plumeria) is a great choice!  Maybe you can ask your contact in Thailand what your floral options are? Good luck!  Thailand is a beautiful place to get married ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t get married there but would use a lot of orchids for a wedding in Thailand. They were EVERYWHERE and and weren’t particularly expensive.

These were my flowers for our wedding in Thailand.  They were very different from the inspiration pictures I had sent to the resort…

My florist (on an island in a neighbouring country to Thailand) told me I could get:

i) orchids (take note there are local and imported orchids. The imported ones are expensive… To give you an idea, my small mixed orchid posy is almost $200 because it’s imported and where I’m getting married, everything is overpriced)

ii) roses (lots, and probably the cheapest flowers but because it’s so warm, they die really fast. An all-rose posy would’ve been $50)

iii) hydrangeas (also imported so a bit expensive but then again, they are very full so you need less)

iv) callas (imported, somewhat expensive)

v) carnations (also cheap like roses)

vi) peonies (if in season. I wanted them but she ended up not being able to get them. These are also freaking expensive @ $20 PER peony;) )

vii) spider lilies (reasonably priced)

viii) chrysanthemums (cheap but depends if they are imported or not)

x) eustomas etc (reasonably cheap. Like roses, carnations etc.)

xi) gerberas (same price as roses etc.)

Other flowers they can get: sunflowers, filler flowers, tulips and a few others.

@Mrs.LemonDrop:  That was going to be my suggestion as well. Here is a website that shows the different varieties available.

Roses also grow readily in Thailand- Amorous US Sailors buy them by the dozen and give them out to the Thai girls (and tourists)when in port- really entertaining to watch!

@Telsey:  Where are you getting married in Koh Samui? I am getting married there 10 days before you!!!! Can’t wait – almost 6 months to go!
