After some discussion, we’ve decided on a honeymoon to Disney World. But we don’t know where to stay. I would want to save money by staying at International Drive but we’re spending the majority of the time in Destination Wedding. Doesn’t make any sense to stay there.
We’ve felt the bigger resorts (Grand Floridian, Poly, Cosmo, Animal Kingdom) is way above our budget, especially if we’re out most of the time. Anywhere nice to stay without breaking the bank?

I want a Disneymoon too and I am considering Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter, and also like Old Key West. I’m thinking Polynesian would be nice/possible for like one night 🙂
You can also register for a Disney honeymoon or portions of it to be paid as gifts.

@littlebaby_S: Yeah I saw the PO resorts looks good. The Key West one is more of my type of resort but it’s costly (even on Expedia). Mind you I haven’t been in Destination Wedding since I was 9. Even during that time, my family stayed at Int. Drive.
I know I said no to Int. Drive but I saw a nice condo nearby for under $600 for the week. However, it looks like a timeshare place and that’s the last thing I need during a Honeymoon. The Wardorf-Astoria also looks amazing but will require a rental car to drive around town.

I have been checking the prices of the resorts and they are so expensive!
Although FI’s parents will be paying for the honeymoon, I agree with you that I’m wondering why do we have to pay that much to stay at a place we will hardly see!
What did you finally do? Any suggestions?

We’re honeymooning in Disney as well! I think we’re going to go with the Carribbean Beach resort. It’s not as fancy as the super high-end resorts, but we want it to be a fun resort! We’re okay with it being more family-friendly with kids around 🙂

You should check out renting points for a DVC resort (Disney vacation club)
The Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas near Epcot are beautiful.
Animal Kinddom Villas are beautifully
the Wilderness Lodge close to MK
and one of my favorites Bay Lake Towers ( walk to MK)
Also consider the Swan and Dolphin ( I prefer the Dolphin) beautiful Hotthe right near the Boardwalk walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios
Check out the DIS Boards for lots of Disney info. !!
