When Fiance had to rent a tux for a wedding, it had to be back on the next business day, or it would cost him extra$$
I’m wondering since we’re doing a Destination Wedding, can we rent? or should we buy? What did your guys do?

@memo: If you rent, you will be charged for a longer rental period.
If you are going somewhere warm, several Bees have used http://www.studiosuits.com
You can buy a suit or a waistcoat (vest) and pants at a very reasonable cost.

@memo: When we went to a semi-destination wedding once (a different Australian city), Darling Husband rented his tux in the city the wedding was in. Can you do that?
OK I just stalked an old post and I see you’ll be in South Carolina. I’m pretty sure there must be a rental chain with outlets in both your city and near the wedding venue; so that they can measure the guys up in your city and then pick up the suits in SC the day before the wedding. I (or DH) have never done it but it must be possible.

I think rented tuxedos/suits always look terrible. I would buy a suit and have it tailored.

@memo: If you are doing suits, I’d advise buying, since you can find a good sale, and a suit is something you’ll wear again. But, if you want to rent, check out theblacktux.com – haven’t used them and don’t know much about them, but I do know they have Tuxes and regular suits, and give you longer with the rental than other places.

Thanks for the links! I’ll check them out 🙂
@paula1248: I was thinking about doing that too, but Fiance was a best man over the summer, and even though this tux place measured them, they still made multiple visits because the tux’s still didn’t fit right on the first try. I’m just worried that may happen, or maybe that place just didn’t know what they were doing lol

@memo I am having a destination wedding in Naples, FL. All of the guys are coming from different areas so we decided to use Men’s Warehouse. They have locations everywhere and the guys can go to anyone close to them to get measured. We then are having all of the guys tux’s picked up in Naples at the Men’s Warehouse close to the wedding venue. The next day we can then drop them off. No extra fees and the guys will not need to travel with them. Win – Win 🙂 Hope this helps!!

FI was pretty adamant about getting a nice, fitted suit so he bought. We are also planning on buying for all the groomsmen too. No rentals.

@memo: My Darling Husband bought his and got it at Mens Wearhouse
This is what we went with. He got everything except the tie there and we got the tie at Macys

@Lcky3b: oh thanks. I’m Canadian, so I’ll have to see if they have a Men’s Warehouse here 🙂
